Answer:

0.45 M

Explanation:

Now we need to make use of the dilution formula

C1V1= C2V2

C1= initial molarity of the solution which is the unknown

V1 = initial volume of the solution which is 175 ml

C2 =final molarity of the solution= 0.315 M

V2= final volume of solution= 250 ml

From C1V1= C2V2 we have;

C1= C2V2/V1

C1= 0.315 × 250/ 175

C1= 0.45 M

Answer:

0.45 M

Explanation:

This is a dillution problem, where we have a solution in a initial state with a initial concentration. Now, this solution of 175 mL KOH, was added water until it reach 250 mL. When we add water we are dilluting the solution and so, the concentration is lower than the initial.

So the volume was changed, and the concentration too, but the only thing that remains constant in both cases is the number of moles. This number was not altered, so, we can safely assume that the moles of the solution would be the same as the initial, and therefore, we can use the following expression:

n₁ = n₂  (1)

And we know that the moles:

n = M * V

so, if we replace this expression into the first one we have:

M₁V₁ = M₂V₂  (2)

From here, we can solve for M₁ and we have:

M₁ = M₂V₂ / V₁  (3)

So all we have to do is replace the given data into this expression and solve for M₁:

M₁ = 250 * 0.315 / 175

<h2>M₁ = 0.45 M</h2><h2>And this would be the initial concentration of KOH</h2>

How can we find the volume of this fish tank? Please I needed but Good
r-ruslan [8.4K]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

Find the number of 1-foot cubes that fill the fish tank

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>

Volume of a cuboid such as the fish tank is given by the product of length width and height;

Such that; Volume = length × width × height

Similarly, we can count the number of 1 foot cube that can fill the fish tank.

And since each cube has a volume of 1 cubic ft, then the number of cubes will be equivalent to the volume of the fish tank in cubic ft.

Once the ionic solid has dissolved, the anion that is formed is able to react as a base, with water as the acid. Write the net a
puteri [66]

Answer:

OCl− + H2O ⇌ HOCl + OH−

Explanation:

Sodium hypochlorite is a corrosive base with pH 13, that will react with water in a neutralization process to finally obtein hypochlorous acid. This acid has a great disinfectant effect in water.

In a lab experiment 80.0 g of ammonia [NH3] and 120 g of oxygen are placed in a reaction vessel. At the end of the reaction 72.2
valentinak56 [21]

The percent yield of the reaction : 89.14%

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Reaction of Ammonia and Oxygen in a lab :

<em>4 NH₃ (g) + 5 O₂ (g) ⇒ 4 NO(g)+ 6 H₂O(g)</em>

mass NH₃ = 80 g

mol NH₃ (MW=17 g/mol):

\dfrac{80}{17}=4.706

mass O₂ = 120 g

mol O₂(MW=32 g/mol) :

\tt \dfrac{120}{32}=3.75

Mol ratio of reactants(to find limiting reatants) :

\tt \dfrac{4.706}{4}\div \dfrac{3.75}{5}=1.1765\div 0.75\rightarrow O_2~limiting~reactant(smaller~ratio)

mol of H₂O based on O₂ as limiting reactants :

mol H₂O :

\tt \dfrac{6}{5}\times 3.75=4.5

mass H₂O :

4.5 x 18 g/mol = 81 g

The percent yield :

\tt \%yield=\dfrac{actual}{theoretical}\times 100\%\\\\\%yield=\dfrac{72.2}{81}\times 100\%=89.14\%

Which of the following BEST describes the process of evolution by natural selection?
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

<em>The correct option is B)  a gradual change of the traits of a species over time</em>

Explanation:

The theory of natural selection explains the gradual changes which occur in the population of a species over time. According to natural selection, those organisms which are better adapted to live in an environment survive and pass on their traits to their offsprings. As a result, the traits of a species tend to change over time through the process of evolution. Evolutionary changes do not occur rapidly, instead, they can take many years to occur.
