Answer:

The forward speed of the disk is 4.07 m/s

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Angle = 25 °C

Distance the disk has rolled = 3.0 m

Step 2= Calculate the initial energy

Since the disk is, at moment t=0, at rest and at a height we only have potential energy

Ei = m*g*h

⇒with E = the potential energy

⇒with m = the mass of the disk

⇒with g = 9.81 m/s²

⇒with h = the height = x*sin 25° = 3*sin25°

Ei = m*g*X*sin25

Step 3: Calculate the final energy

Ef = 1/2 (mv²) + 1/2 Iw²

Ef = 1/2 (mv²) + 1/2(mR²)(v/R)²

Ef = 1/2mv² + 1/4 mv²= 3/4 mv²

Step 4: The law of conservation of energy

Ei = Ef

m*g*X*sin25 = 3/4 mv²

g*X*sin25 = 3/4 v²

Step 5: Calculate v

v = √(4/3 * g*X sin25°)

v = √(4/3 * 9.81*3 sin25°)

v = 4.07 m/s

The forward speed of the disk is 4.07 m/s

Explain why, under some circumstances, it is not advisable to weld a structure that is fabricated with a 3003 aluminum alloy. Hi
Scorpion4ik [409]

The 3003 aluminum alloy is made up of 1.25% Magnesium and 0.1% Copper. This combination is designed to increase the strength of the material over other types of alloys such as those of the 1000 series. This alloy provides a medium strength and can be educated by cold work.

The alloy is not heat treatable and generally has good formability, corrosion resistance and weldability.

However, being a material that hardens by cold work, welding a 3003 Aluminum structure will cause the body to undergo recrystallization which will generate a loss in the 'resistance' of the material and the force capable of withstanding. If this aluminum will be used for structural purposes, it should not be welded. It would be better to perform the structure with a 6061 aluminum, which has similar characteristics and is not so affected by welding.

A +2e charge is at the point (-1,0) mm in the x,y plane. A –e charge is at the point (0,1) mm. What is the electric field at the
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

Let I and j be the unit vector along x and y axis respectively.

Electric field at origin is given by

E= kq1/r1^2 i + kq2/r2^2j

= 9*10^9*1.6*10^-19*/10^-6*(2i+ j)

= (2.88i + 1.44j)*10^-3 N/C

Force on charge= qE= 3*10^-19*1.6*(2.88i +1. 44 j) *10^-3

F= (1.382 i + 0.691 j) *10^-21

A powerful motorcycle can produce an acceleration of 3.00 m/s2 while traveling at 90.0 km/h. At that speed the forces resisting
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

1185 N

Explanation:

From Newton’s second law of motion,

F=ma where m= mass of motorcycle, a is acceleration of the motorcycle and F=Force

Net force acting on motorcycle F_{net} is given by  F_{net}=F-f

Where F is force acting on motorcycle and f is frictional force

Substituting F-f for F_{net}

F_{net}=ma hence  ma= F- f Substituting a with 3, m with 245Kg and f with 450N as provided

245*3= F- 450

F=245*3 +450= 1185 N

Why is it important that radioisotopes used in diagnostic tests have short half-lives? 20 A) These radioisotopes have a greater
LiRa [457]

Answer:

Option B) This minimizes the harmful side effects of the radiations

Explanation:

Half-life is the time taken for the decay of an radio-active atom in which it disintegrates such that it becomes half of its value at the beginning.... The nuclei should be in active mode for a longer duration sufficient for the treatment of the condition but these nuclei should have a sufficient  shorter half life so that they don't get enough time to cause any  damage to the health of the person other than treating the cause.

A shorter half life gives the assurance that the radiation after the treatment will leave the body without getting accumulated and cause harm to the body cells and other organs.
