Why did we have segregated schools in the first place?
Ksju [112]
We had segregated schools in the first place because Americans used to own slaves, at least the richer ones did. And after Abraham Lincolns emancipation proclamation, slaves slowly became freed. They were their own people. But many whites didn’t like that. They feared that. The white people did not like that black people now got to live with them as their equals. So they made it so there were separate drinking fountains, separate tables, and separate schools (among many other separate things)
Overall it was white people being afraid of or not liking that black people would have equality

Theorists using a __________ perspective emphasize that families are important for society because they are the primary source f
Nookie1986 [14]

Theorists using a "functionalist" perspective emphasize that families are important for society because they are the primary source for the procreation and socialization of children.

Explanation:

The functionalist viewpoint sees society as a complicated system, the parts of which work together to foster unity and stability. This viewpoint looks at society through some kind of macro-level prism, and usually emphasizes on the social structures that make up society as a whole.

The government, for instance, offers education for the family's children, which in effect pays taxes on which the state relies to continually run itself. From this viewpoint, system disorganization, like immoral behavior, leads to transition because it demands that social structures adapt to maintain equilibrium.

How did colonial response to the British inflame tensions?
vichka [17]

If colonists mistreated natives in any way, treating them as less than human, that would indeed inflame the native population, leading to increased tension between the two groups. This problem, when not solved, has led to revolts and few colonies.
