To factor first multily 100 and 1 and get 100

then find what 2 numbers multiply to get 100 and add to get 20

the numbers are 10 and 10

so
split the center term up
100x^2+10x+10x+1
group
(100x^2+10x)+(10x+1)
undistribute
(10x)(10x+1)+(1)(10x+1)
undistribute/reverse distributive property
(10x+1)(10x+1)
(10x+1)^2

<span>since this is a perfect square problem, the answer will be in the form (ax + b) ^ 2. what can you tell from looking at the original equation? x^2 does not have a coefficient in front of it, so a = 1. the second term is negative, so b must be negative. finally, the last number 100 is the square of + or - 10, so b must be +10 or -10, but we already figured b has to be negative, so b = -10

The width of a rectangle is 7 2 5 ft and the length is 5 1 2 ft. What is the area of the rectangle?
Levart [38]

Answer:

The formula for the perimeter, 'P' of a rectangle whose length and width are 'l' and 'w' respectively is P = 2(l + w). To calculate the length and width of a rectangle first, calculate the value of width 'w' by using the area of rectangle formula that is, 'w = A/l'.

Step-by-step explanation:

apply this formula

Hello, can someone help me with this? Thank you.
Ksivusya [100]

Answer:

(x, y) → (2x - 2, 2y - 1)

Step-by-step explanation:

The original length from Point E to Point G was 2. The length after the figure was transformed is 4. This means that the value of x was multiplied by 2 because 2(the original value) multiplied by 2 equals 4(the new value.)

After the x value is doubled, Point E is found at x = 0 when the transformed Point E is at x = -2. This tells us that the x value has to decrease by 2 after it is doubled.

The original length from Point F to Point H was 4. The length after the figure was transformed is 8. This means that the y value doubled in value, which is the same as saying it was multiplied by 2.

After you double the y value, Point F is found at y = 9, but the fully transformed figure's Point F is found at y = 8. This means that after the y value is doubled it should decrease by 1.

I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions :)

Mrs. Long just got a new puppy! The puppy is learning how to run on hard wood floors. The puppy is running at a rate if 4 feet p
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

Points apply to the given situation:

(a)The puppy will run into the wall after 5 seconds

(b)The slope is -4 ft per second since the puppy is running at a rate of 4 ft per second.

(c)The y-intercept is 20 ft because the puppy is 20 feet away from the wall.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have given,

A puppy is running at a rate = 4 feet per second

A wall is 20 feet away from puppy. That means initially puppy is 20 feet away from the wall.

So, time taken by puppy to reach the wall = \frac{Distance}{rate}

i.e. time take by puppy to reach the wall = \frac{20}{4} = 5 seconds

Now we write the points that apply to this situation:

(a)The puppy will run into the wall after 5 seconds

(b)The slope is -4 ft per second since the puppy is running at a rate of 4 ft per second. {Since the puppy is moving towards the wall that means horizontal distance is decreasing at a rate of -4 feet per second}

(c)The y-intercept is 20 ft because the puppy is 20 feet away from the wall.
