What is 3.875 rounded to the nearest cent?

Mathematics

The answer should be 3.88 because when people talk about ''cent'' that usually refers to nearest hundredth so round it and that would be 2 decimal spaces so go from left to right and count twice after 3, and round <u>7</u> up by 1 and that would be 8, so 3.88 should be it.

  • 3x² + 5x + 1 = 0 simplified
  • x = (-5 ± \sqrt{13})/6 roots

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given quadratic formula</u>

  • 3x² + 5x - 5 = - 6

<u>Standard form</u>

  • ax² + bx + c = 0

<u>Simplifying</u>

  • 3x² + 5x - 5 + 6 = 0
  • 3x² + 5x + 1 = 0

<u>Solving</u>

  • x = (-5 ± \sqrt{5^2 -4*3*1})/(2*3)
  • x = (-5 ± \sqrt{13})/6

Waves with an amplitude of 2 feet pass a dock every 30 seconds. Write an equation for a cosine function to model the height of a
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer:

The cosine function to model the height of a water particle above and below the mean water line is h = 2·cos((π/30)·t)

Step-by-step explanation:

The cosine function equation is given as follows h = d + a·cos(b(x - c))

Where:

\left | a \right | = Amplitude

2·π/b = The period

c = The phase shift

d = The vertical shift

h = Height of the function

x = The time duration of motion of the wave, t

The given data are;

The amplitude \left | a \right | = 2 feet

Time for the wave to pass the dock

The number of times the wave passes a point in each cycle = 2 times

Therefore;

The time for each complete cycle = 2 × 30 seconds  = 60 seconds

The time for each complete cycle = Period = 2·π/b = 60

b = π/30 =

Taking the phase shift as zero, (moving wave) and the vertical shift as zero (movement about the mean water line), we have

h = 0 + 2·cos(π/30(t - 0)) = 2·cos((π/30)·t)

The cosine function is h = 2·cos((π/30)·t).

How to solve all of this
photoshop1234 [79]
Start circle: πd = (3.14)(19) = 59.7

Move diagonally to the circle with the radius of 6.2.

Second circle: 2πr = 2(3.14)(6.2) = 39

Move upwards to the circle with the radius of 10.5

third circle: 2πr = 2(3.14)(10.5) = 66

Move right to the circle with the diameter of 16.6

Fourth circle: πd = (3.14)(16.6) = 52.2

Move down to the circle with the diameter of 7.7

fifth circle: πd = (3.14)(7.7) = 24.2

Move down to the circle with the diameter of 50

Sixth circle: πd = (3.14)(50) = 157.1

Move left to the circle with the radius of 11.8

Seventh circle: 2πr = 2(3.14)(11.8) = 74.1

Move down to the circle with the radius of 38

Eight circle: 2πr = 2(3.14)(38) = 238.8

Move right to the circle with the diameter of 1.1

ninth circle: πd = (3.14)(1.1) = 3.5

Move right to the circle with the radius of 14.8

10th circle = 2πr = 2(3.14)(14.8) = 93

Move up to the end.

Hope this helps :)
