What are the effects that enzymes can have on substrates

Biology

Burka [1]3 years ago

In chemical reactions involving enzymes, the substrate proteins are huge molecules that will only react with each other if they're aligned just the right way. If they are permitted to interact with the enzymes present, the won't collide and react often enough for the reaction to do any good. The enzymes align the molecules, basically acting like "molecule shepherds," showing them the way they need to react. This speeds up the reaction greatly, making things like digestion possible. Hope this is helpful

What structures are found in plant cells that are not found in animal cells?
solong [7]

There are three major structures that are found in plant cells that aren't found in animal cells. These are chloroplasts, (which is where the process photosynthesis takes place), a cell wall (which keeps the structure of the cell), and a large central vacuole,  (which stores extra food/water). Don't make the mistake, though.  Animal cells have vacuoles, but they are just smaller and not as important, because they have a different way of excreting waste, which plant cells cannot do.

What is the function of a circulatory system? a) It brings a transport liquid into close contact with all cells in the body. b)
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

The correct answer is a) It brings a transport liquid into close contact with all cells in the body.

Explanation:

The circulatory system helps in bringing the blood which is a transport liquid in close contact with the cells present in our body. This helps in gas exchange between cells and blood. The circulation of blood in the body occurs by the pumping of blood by the heart into arteries, veins, and capillaries.

This circulation of blood plays many other vital functions like transport of nutrients to the cells, transport of waste products from the cell to outside the body, transport of hormones, maintenance of body temperature, etc.

So all these processes become possible when transport liquid comes in contact with the cells. Therefore the right answer is a.

The middle pleistocene and the late pleistocene correspond to which cultural periods?
Crank

The middle stone age and the later stone age corresponds to the middle and the late pleistocene.

Cultural evolution during the middle and the late pleistocene :-

In southwestern Asia as well as northern and southern Africa, personal ornaments in the form of perforated seashells are recorded from the early Late Pleistocene. In the Old World, Neanderthals and anatomically modern humans are linked to a range of personal ornamentation by about 40,000 years ago (Ka). These include fully created ornaments as well as organically modified things. The appearance of figurative art, mythical imagery, and other types of items, like as musical instruments, at various times in history suggest that completely modern behavior began to emerge more gradually towards the middle of the Late Pleistocene and most definitely no later than 40 Ka. Many, but not all, of the lengthy and rigorous history of study might well have helped to the relevant data come from Europe.
