Today, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Protestant groups. They have very different beliefs and practices from one anoth

er. On the other hand, there is only one Catholic Church. Though there are some groups within Catholicism, most consider themselves Catholic first. Their beliefs match Catholic beliefs.
What about Protestant beliefs may have caused this split? Why has Protestantism split, while Catholicism has remained more unified?
