Basically you make sure that both of the mixed fractions have the same denominator. Aka the common denominator, 4 goes into 8, so 8 is a common denominator. whatever you do the top you do to the bottom, so your new equation for 5 3/4 is 5 6/8. between 5 6/8 and 1 7/8 you figure out the difference. 5-1 = 4 so the difference between 7/8 and 6/8 is 1/8 so your answer is 4 1/8. hopefully i helped you :))

Write the equation of this circle in standard form.<br> please give answer?
Law Incorporation [45]

Given the center (x_0,y_0) and the radius r of a circle, its equation is

(x-x_0)^2+(y-y_0)^2=r^2

In your case, the center is (-4,0), and the radius is 2. Plug these values into the generic formula and you'll get the equation.

David will spend at most $39 on gifts. So far, he has spent $22. What are the possible additional amounts he will spend? Use c f
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

c\leq \$17

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

c -----> the additional amount (in dollars) David will spend

we know that

The word " at most" in this context means "less than or equal to"

The amount David has spent plus possible additional amounts he will spend must be less than or equal to $39

so

The inequality that represent this situation is

22+c\leq 39

solve for c

subtract 22 both sides

c\leq 39-22

c\leq \$17

The maximum amount he could spend is $17

What is the standard form of the equation of the circle?
lisabon 2012 [21]
The standard form of the equation of a circle is:
(x - a) {}^{2}  + (y - b) {}^{2}  = r {}^{2}
Where the point (a,b) represents the centre and r is the radius. So, given your information, the equation will be:
{(x + 4)}^{2} + {(y + 3)}^{2} = 25
