The Ku Kluk Clan for example actively participated in the lynching of Leo Frank a Jewish American factory superintendent who was convicted of the murder of a 13-year-old employee Mary Phagan. The trial was biased and the press inundated the case with misleading information. Leo was hanged by a mob that later formed the Ku Klux Clan.
