Decreased by 25%
find 25% of 12 and decrease 12 by it

percent means parts out of 100
25%=25/100=1/4
'of' means multiply
25% of 12=1/4 times 12=3

decrease 12 by 3
12-3=9

answer is 9

first turn 25% into a decimal so it's easier to work with, the decimal for 25% is 0.25

then multiply the number by the decimal

12x0.25=3

then subtract your answer (3) from your starting number

12-3=9

12 dogs decreased by 25% leaves you with 9 dogs left.

if you are increasing, divide instead of multiply

26. Students who take a statistics course are given a pre-test on the concepts and skills for the first chapter of a statistics
hjlf

The test statistic value lies to the right of the critical value. So we have sufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis.

<h3>What are null hypotheses and alternative hypotheses?</h3>

In null hypotheses, there is no relationship between the two phenomenons under the assumption or it is not associated with the group. And in alternative hypotheses, there is a relationship between the two chosen unknowns.

Students who take a statistics course are given a pre-test on the concepts and skills for the first chapter of a statistics course.

Then they are given a post-test once the professor has concluded lecturing on the material.

Pre-test and post-test scores for 4 students in an elementary statistics class are given below.

Then we have

\mu _d = \mu _{post} - \mu _{pre}

Then the null hypotheses and alternative hypotheses will be

H₀: \mu _d = 0

Hₐ: \mu _d > 0

Then the test statistic will be

\rm \overline{x} _d = \dfrac{\Sigma x_d}{n} = \dfrac{15+12+10+1}{4}\\\\\overline{x} _d = 9.5

Then

\rm S_d = 6.02

The test statistic value is given by

\rm t = \dfrac{\overline{x} _d }{\dfrac{S_d}{\sqrtn}} \\\\t = \dfrac{9.5}{\dfrac{6.02}{\sqrt4}}\\\\t = 3.16

Since this is a right-tailed test, so the critical value is given by

\rm t_{n-1}(\alpha ) = t_3 (0.05) = 2.353

Since the test statistic value lies to the right of the critical value. So we have sufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis.

Hence, we can conclude that \mu _d > 0 that is test scores have improved.

More about the null hypotheses and alternative hypotheses link is given below.

Car A began a journey from a point at 9 am, traveling at 30 mph. At 10 am car B started traveling from the same point at 40 mph
Natasha2012 [34]
Let after t hours the distances D1<span> traveled by car A</span>

=> D1<span> = 30 t</span>

Car B starts at 10 am and will, therefore, have spent one hour less than car A when it passes it.

After (t - 1) hours, distance D2<span> traveled by car B </span>

=> D2<span> = 40 (t - 1)</span>

When car B passes car A, they are at the same distance from the starting point and therefore<span> D1 = D2 </span>

=> 30 t = 40 (t - 1)

Solve the equation for t,

=> 30 t = 40t - 40

=> 10 t = 40

=> t = 4

=><span> Car B passes car A at = 9 + 4 = 13 pm.</span>

This is my last problem and I don't know whether or not this is right. Can someone please help me? &lt;3 &lt;3 &lt;3 (7th grade
uysha [10]

You got the total number of pages correct, but the equation gets you 39 total pages. Instead of multiplying by 1/3, you multiply by 3 because 114+3 is 1/3 of the total pages. So:

(114+3) · 3 = p

351 = p
