Answer;

  = 6.0 m/s²

<u>Explanation and solution</u>

  • According to Newton's second Law of motion the resultant force is directly proportional to the rate of change in momentum.
  • Therefore; F = ma , where F is the force, m is the mass and a is the acceleration

F = 4 × 3

  = 12 Newtons

The same force acts on a 2.0 kg object

F = ma

a = F/ m

  = 12 /2

<u>   = 6.0 m/s²</u>

Two trains approach each other on parallel tracks. Each has a speed of 95 kph relative to the ground. If they are initially 8.5
aliya0001 [1]

Answer: 2.83 minutes

Explanation:

It is understood that trains are approaching. That is, they have speeds of equal magnitude but opposite. When train A travels x meters northbound, then train B travels the same distance southbound.

Therefore trains approach at a speed of:

V = 95 +95 = 190\ km / h

Then:

V = \frac{x}{t}\\\\t = \frac{x}{V}

Where x is the distance between the trains

x = 8.5\ km

So the time in which both trains meet is:

t =\frac{8.5\ km}{180\ \frac{km}{h}}\\\\t=0.04722\ hours

This is:

0.04722*\frac{60\ minutes}{1\ hour} = 2.83\ minutes

Imagine you could travel to the moon where the acceleration due to gravity is 1.6 m/s^2. What would be the period of
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

4.9612 s

Explanation:

Applying,

T = 2π√(L/g)............... Equation 1

Where T = period of the pendulum, L = Lenght of the pendulum, g = acceleration due to gravity of the moon, π = pie.

From the question,

Given: L = 1 m, g = 1.6 m/s²

Constant: π = 3.14

Substitute these values into equation 1

T = 2×3.14×√(1/1.6)

T = 6.28√(0.625)

T = 6.28×0.79

T = 4.9612 s

Approximately what core temperature is required before hydrogen fusion can begin in a star?
valkas [14]

Answer:

The temperature required is near about 3 million kelvin

Explanation:

The brilliance of the star results from the nuclear reaction that take place in the core of the star and radiate a huge amount of thermal energy resulting from the fusion of hydrogen into helium.

For this reaction to take place, the temperature of the star's core must be near about 3 million kelvin.

The hydrogen atoms collide and starts and the energy from the collision results in the heating of the gas cloud. As the temperature comes to near about 1.5\times 10^{7 {\circ}C, the nuclear fusion reaction takes place in the core of the gas cloud.

The huge amount of thermal energy from the nuclear reaction gives the gas cloud a brilliance resulting in a protostar.
