Step-by-step explanation:

Im not sure if its supposed y = -2x + 1 or y = 2x + 1 but I'll solve the problem for both.

First for y = -2x + 1

Since the line has to be parallel to y = -2x + 1

the slopes would be the same.

so, so far the equation would be

y = -2x + b

now we substitute (5,2) into the equation

2 = -2(5) + b

2 = -10 + b (Add 10 to both sides of the equation)

+10 +10

12 = b

Now that we solved for b

The equation would be

y = -2x + 12

^^ This equation is parallel to y = -2x + 1

Now to solve for an equation parallel to y = 2x + 1

Both equations would have the same slope

So far we would have

y = 2x + b

Now we solve for be by substituting the point (5,2)

2 = 2(5) + b

2 = 10 + b (subtract 10 from both sides)

-10 -10

-8 = b

After solving for b

The equation is

y = 2x - 8

This equation is parallel to y = 2x + 1

Find the largest value of x that satisfies:<br> log3(x^2)-log3(x+4)=4
Anton [14]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

log3(x^2)-log3(x+4)=4

Log 3(x^2/x+4)=4     -Combine the logs

x^2/x+4 = 3^4 - Use the relationship Logb(y)=x   =>b^x=y

x^2/x+4 = 81

x^2= 81^(x+4)

x^2=81x+324

x^2-81x-324=0

Solving for x using the property x=-b-/+[tex]\sqrt{x} b^2-4ac]/ 2a

=(81 ±√(81)^2-4^11^324)/2

= (81±√6561-1296)/2

=(81±88.63)/2

= (81+88.63)/2

=84.81

In a poll of Mr. Briggs's math class, 67% of the students say that math is their favorite academic subject. The editor of the sc
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Answer:

1) biased sample

2) random sampling

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the results are based on feedback of students in only one class, it's not a good representative of the entire student body.

Also, since it's a math class there will be a bias.

Better method would be randomly selecting students from the entire school students list and take their feedback

A right triangle has side 32 and hypotenuse 68 use the Pythagorean theorem to find the length of the third side?
butalik [34]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x is the third side

x² + 32² = 68²

x² = 68² - 32² = 3600
