a travel agency offers two chicago outings. Plan A includes hotel accommodations for three nights and two pairs of basketball ti

ckets with a total of $557Let x represent the cost of one night's hotel accommodation and let y represent the cost of one pair of baseball tickets. Write a system of equations you could solve to find the cost of one night's hotel accommodation and one pair of baseball tickets.Solve the system. The yellow pages identify two different local electrical businesses. Business A charges $50 for a service call, plus an additional $39 per hour for labor. Business B charges $32 for a service call, plus an additional $45 per hour for labor.Let x represent the number of hours of labor and let y represent the total charge. Write a system of equations you could solve to find the length of a service call for which both businesses charge the same amount.Solve the system.Which company would you use? Why?

Answer: 50 + 39x(1) = y

32 + 45x(2) = y

Business A, because it is faster

Step-by-step explanation: from business A it is said they charge 50 for a service call plus an additional 39 per hour, so labelling x as number of hour we will get 39x then adding it to 50 to get the total amount of charge which is y, and I put (1) and (2) after x to differentiate the x for business A and B, applying the same explanation for business B we get the two equations

50 + 39x(1) = y

32 + 45x(2) = y

So the two equations equals to y, we equate both equations

50 + 39x(1) = 32 + 45x(2)

Now we assume that x(1) = 1

So

50 + 39(1) = 32 + 45x(2)

57 = 45x(2)

x(2) = 57/45

x(2) = 19/15

So since it's a time value, we make the denominator into 60

x(2) = 19/15 x 4/4

x(2) = 76/60 hour = 76 minutes = 1hour 16mintes

So this means that for every hour business A takes for the service call, business B takes an hour and 16minutes

So I will take business A because it is faster than business B

Misha Larkins [42]

If you know that there are 21 members and 13 are females, if you subtract 13 from 21, you will get 8. There are 8 females in the gardening club.

Now you have to figure out the ratio to females to all club members. You already know that there are 8 females and 21 club members. The ratio would be 8:21.

I hope you found this helpful :)
