Here is you're answer:

First, you need to convert the mixed number into a improper fraction, then you have to convert the improper fraction into a decimal, then round to the nearest tenth.

  • 2\frac{12}{13}
  • 2\frac{12}{13} = \frac{38}{13}
  • Now convert into a decimal:
  • 13 \div 38 = 0.34210526315789
  • Find the tenth place value:
  • PV = 8
  • 8 > 5
  • = 0.34210526315780

Therefore you're answer is "0.34210526315780."

Hope this helps!

Answer:

Question 1: the slope is -6

Question 2: the first choice is the one you want

Step-by-step explanation:

For the first one, I can't tell what fraction is on the left side with the y, but it doesn't matter.  To me it looks like 1/2, but like I said, it won't change or affect our answer regarding the slope.  That number has nothing to do with the slope.

In order to determine the slope of that line that is currently in point-slope form, we need to change it to slope-intercept form.  Another expression for slope-intercept form is to solve it for y.  Doing that:

y - \frac{1}{2}=-6x-42

Now we can add 1/2 to both sides.  That gives us the slope-intercept form of the line:

y=-6x- \frac{83}{2}

The form is y = mx + b, where the number in the "m" place is the slope.  Our slope is -6.

For the second one, we will sub in the x coordinate in a pair for x in the equation of the line and do the same for y to see if the left side equals the right side.  The answer is (\frac{2}{9},-7) and I'll show you why.  I will also show you how another point DOESN'T work in the equation.  Filling in 2/9 for x and -7 for y:

-7+7=-3( \frac{2}{9} -\frac{2}{9}) which simplifies to

0 = -3(0) so

0 = 0 and this is true.

The other point I am going to use in exactly the same process is (-3, -7) since it doesn't have fractions in it.  First I'm going to distribute the -3 into the parenthesis to get:

y+7= -3 x + \frac{6}{9}

Subbing in -3 for x and -7 for y:

-7+7=-3( -3) +\frac{6}{9}

As you can see, the left side equals 0 but the right side does not.  If the lft side doesn't equal the right side, then the expression is not true, so the point is not on the line.

The three trapezoids have the same base lengths, but different angle measures. Which trapezoid has the greatest area? Explain.
Firlakuza [10]
Well the formula for the area of a trapezoid is as follows:

A=\frac{a+b}{2} h

where a and b are both base measures (a trapezoid has a top and bottom base).

Therefore, if all three have the same base length (the top and bottom lengths themselves being different yet the same on all three), the trapezoid with the greatest angle measure would have the greatest are. This is because with a greater angle measure comes a greater height (Pythagorean theorem).<span />

Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

The 99% confidence interval is (0.0787, 0.1613).

Step-by-step explanation:

In a sample with a number n of people surveyed with a probability of a success of \pi, and a confidence interval 1-\alpha, we have the following confidence interval of proportions.

\pi \pm z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}

In which

Z is the zscore that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{\alpha}{2}.

For this problem, we have that:

The survey included 411 adults between the ages of 55 and 64, and 50 of them said that they had used online dating. This means that n = 411, \pi = \frac{50}{411} = 0.12

The 99% confidence interval is

So \alpha = 0.01, z is the value of Z that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{0.01}{2} = 0.995, so Z = 2.575.

The lower limit of this interval is:

\pi - z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{411}} = 0.12 - 2.575\sqrt{\frac{0.12*0.88}{411}} = 0.0787

The upper limit of this interval is:

\pi + z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{411}} = 0.12 + 2.575\sqrt{\frac{0.12*0.88}{411}} = 0.1613

The 99% confidence interval is (0.0787, 0.1613).
