The dopamine is a neurotransmitter that sends signals to other nerve cells. It is commonly associated with the pleasure system of the brain. It provides a feeling of enjoyment and motivation to do so and continue doing such activities.
When drugs are abused it stimulate 2 to 10 times more dopamine to be released. This flood of dopamine results in euphoria. It is highly pleasurable and because of it, individuals are always keen to repeat the feeling with the recurring drug abuse.
