Explanation:

Hormones and neurotransmitters are the different chemical messengers. Hormones are former produced by endocrine glands and neurotransmitters are produced by nervous system.

Hormones are secreted from endocrine system and are released into bloodstream, but hormones act on the distant target cells. Some hormones  like cortisol and melatonin are produced in brain and released in blood and affect other parts of body.

On other hand, the neurotransmitters are released from presynaptic nerve terminal in brain. Neurotransmitters move across synaptic cleft and then move to next neuron. At this site, they bind to specific receptors, causing changes in electrical properties of the target cells, which further can cause different postsynaptic effects. Their have fast actions.

Example of hormones:

Follicle stimulating hormone is released by pituitary gland into bloodstream. FSH is essential to the pubertal development and function of the women’s ovaries and the men’s testes.

Example of neurotransmitters :

Monoamine neurotransmitter, serotonin helps in regulating the mood, sleep and appetite as well as cthe ognitive functions such as memory and attention.

Determine what is missing from this neutralization reaction: AgNO3+KCl→AgCl+−−−−
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

The answer to your question is: KNO₃

Explanation:

                                AgNO3  +  KCl   →   AgCl  +   −−−−

A. KNO3    this option is correct because it is a double replacement reaction then potassium must attached to NO₃.

B. KOH  this product is not possible because there is no water to form OH⁻ ions.

C. Ag2K  this product is not possible because both Ag and K are metals, then it is difficult that they attach.

D. KN2O This product is imposible to form, this option is wrong.

A reaction was suppose to produce 20 L of gas. Only 12 litters of gas were produced in the lab. What is the percent yield for th
pogonyaev

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf 60 \%}}

Explanation:

Percent yield is a ratio of the actual yield to the theoretical yield. It is found using this formula:

\% \ yield= \frac {actual \ yield}{theoretical \  yield} *100

The actual yield is 12 liters, because that was actually produced in the lab.

The theoretical yield is 20 liters, because that was the expected yield.

\% \ yield= \frac {12 \ L}{20\ L} *100

\% \ yield= 0.6*100

\% \ yield= 60

For this reaction, the percent yield is 60%.

B: The total thermal energy is greater in a large body of water than one much smaller

Explanation:

A large lake filled filled with cool water will have more thermal energy than smaller pond filled with warmer water because the total thermal energy is greater in a large body of water than one that is much smaller.

Thermal energy is a form of kinetic energy usually due to transfer of heat energy.

Amount of heat energy is dependent on the differences in temperature, mass and specific heat capacity of a body.

Both lake water will have the same specific heat capacity. Since larger body of water has more mass, it will possess more thermal energy.

Answer:

V2 = 600ml

Explanation:

dilution principle formula

M1V1 = M2V2

C1V1 = C2V2

3 X 20 = 0.1 x V2

60 = 0.1 x V2

V2 = 60/0.1
