Fran has 7 sheets of paper for a colouring project. If she only uses 1/3 of a sheet of paper per drawing how many drawings can s
Sav [38]
So we can make an equation for this, being 7=1/3x, as that effectively says she can make 3 drawings per page.

Knowing this, we can multiply it by 3 to get x=21 (since if she can draw 3 drawings per page, we can imagine that if each drawing took a page she would need 3 times the pieces of paper), therefore she can make 21 drawings.

How can i show 5/8 is greater than 3/8
Serjik [45]
The first answer, using a number line, is a good answer.

I have two other ways:

Way #1:

5 stones is more than 3 stones.
5 gallons is greater than 3 gallons.
5 pounds is greater than 3 pounds.
5 puppies is greater than 3 puppies.
5 hamburgers is greater than 2 hamburgers.
5 schoolbuses is greater than 3 schoolbuses.

We look around us, and we see that 5 of anything
is always greater than 3 of the same thing.

There's no reason that should change if the 'things' are eighths.

Way #2:

-- Get 2 friends to help you.

-- Take one good-size veggie pizza or coconut cream pie.

-- Carefully cut it up in eight (8) equal pieces.
 Now each piece is 1/8 of the pie or the pizza.

-- Give 5 pieces (5/8) to the first friend.
 Give 3 pieces (3/8) to the other friend.

-- Ask them to get together and agree on who has more.

Genrish500 [490]

Answer:

n(B U S) = 75

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation:-

Probability:-

P(E) = \frac{number of elements events in E}{total number of elementary events in the random experiment}

P(E) = \frac{m}{n}

Let 'B' be the event of having twelve year old brother

Let 'S' be the event of having twelve year old sister

given data P(BUS) = 0.25

given total survey n(survey) = 300

we have to find the value is n(BUS) =?

we will use probability definition we get, P( BUS) =\frac{n(BUS)}{n(survey)}

substitute given values, we will get solution

0.25 = \frac{n(BUS)}{300}

after cross multiplication , we get

n(BUS) = 0.25 X 300

n(BUS) = 75
