Multiply the 3 by 16 and the 16 by 3 to even the numbers to 48.

then multiply the 2 above by 16 and the 3 above by 3 so it becomes like this

\frac{32}{48}  -  \frac{9}{48}  =  \frac{23}{48}

A slice of pizza whose edges form a 32degrees angle with an outer crust edge 4 inches long was found in a gym locker. What was t
liq [111]

Answer:

The diameter was d=\frac{45}{\pi } in.

Step-by-step explanation:

The arc of a circle is given by

s=r\theta

where

s = arc length

r = radius of the circle

θ = measure of the central angle in radians.

From the information given

s = 4 in

θ = 32º

To find the diameter of the original pizza, we use the formula of the diameter of a circle

d=2r

First, we need to convert the angle to radians

\theta=32\º \cdot \frac{\pi}{180\º} =\frac{8\pi }{45}

Next, solve for r from the arc formula

r=\frac{s}{\theta} =\frac{4}{\frac{8\pi }{45}} =\frac{45}{2\pi }

Then, we use the diameter of a circle formula

d=2r=2(\frac{45}{2\pi })=\frac{45}{\pi }

Assign two variables for each problem, and write the equations. Do not solve.
NemiM [27]
Price of boots is represented as x, price of tennis shoes is represented as y. x-y=44.38 x+y=196.12 Isolate x. (Or y, if you wanted to) x=y+44.38 x=196.12-y Set them equal to each other. y+44.38=196.12-y Solve for y. Then plug it in to either of the two original equations to find x. x=120.24 y=75.86 Note: This is assuming that the boots are more expensive than the tennis shoes. If the tennis shoes are more expensive than the boots, then the prices would be switched. I didn't find this clear in your question.

A rectangular prism has a 4-inch-by-5-inch base and
attashe74 [19]

Step-by-step explanation:

A rectangular prism is shaped like a pyramid, but the base is longer in one direction than the other. i.e. a rectangle.

A cross section of a shape is the new face that is formed when you cut a shape into two pieces with a straight cut. The problem tells us that the cross section is parallel to the base of the prism, therefore if the prism is placed on a flat surface with the base facing down, then we would be cutting horizontally.

The new face that is created on the shape after the cut, would be a rectangle due to the shape of the base.
