Cost of each pound of dog food = $2 .

Total cost of 9 pounds of dog food = 9 * 2 = $18.

Let us assume number of treats she can buy = t.

Cost of each treat = $1.

Cost of t number of treats = 1*t = 1t .

Total money Cara has = $25.

We can setup an inequality as,

Total cost of dog food + total cost of t number of treats ≤ 25.

18 + 1t ≤ 25.

Subtracting 18 from both sides, we get

18 + 1t -18  ≤ 25-18.

1t ≤ 7 or t ≤ 7.

So, she can purchase 7 or less treats.

Solve for x. −23(3x−4)+3x=56
labwork [276]

Answer:

x = 6/11

Step-by-step explanation:

−23(3x−4)+3x=56

Distribute

-69x + 92 +3x = 56

Combine like terms

-66x+92 = 56

Subtract 92 from each side

-66x+92-92 = 56-92

-66x =-36

Divide each side by -66

-66x/-66 = -36/-66

x = 6/11

1. y=6

2. y=-12

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>1) If y varies inversely as x, and y=3 as x = -2, find y for the x value of -1.</u>

It is given that

y varies inversely as x

IT will be written as:

y∝1/x

Removing the proportionality symbol

y=k/x

Given

y=3 , x=-2

Putting the values

3=k/-2

k=3*-2 = -6

The equation will be:

y=-6/x

So,

When x=-1

y=\frac{-6}{-1}\\y=6

<u>2) If y varies directly as x, and y=15 as x=-3, find y for the x value of 4</u>

y is directly proportional to x

y∝x

y=kx

Given

y=15, x=-3

Putting the values

y=kx\\15=-3k\\k=\frac{15}{-3}\\k=-5\\The\ equation\ will\ be:\\y=-3xNow,\\x=4\\y=-3(4)\\y=-12

Hence,

1. y=6

2. y=-12
