After getting trounced by your little brother in a children's game, you suspect the die he gave you to roll may be unfair. To

check, you roll it 48 times, recording the number of times each face appears. Do these results cast doubt on the die is fairness

Answer:

The results are

Face     Count         Face          Count

1               6                  4                9

2              12                 5                5

3              8                 6               20

These results are not fair, because they clearly shows that the dice was tricked. We deduct this by observing that he obtained the face 6, 20 times out of 48, which represents 42% of chances to get that result.

Now, a fair dice must have equal probabilities per side, or an approximation to that at least. In this case, we don't have such equality.

So, next time your little brother roll the dice, we probably will get 6.

Fernando followed two diagonal paths, Paths 1 and 2, to get from his house, F, to a neighborhood corner store, C, as shown below
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

42 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

See attachment for complete question

Required

Calculate distance FC

FC is calculated as:

FC = Path\ 1 + Path\ 2

Where

Path\ 1 = FB

Path\ 2 = BC

Considering \triangle FEB, we have:

FB^2 = FE^2 + BE^2 --- Pythagoras theorem

Where

FE = FD - BA

FE = 22m - 15m

FE = 7m

and

BE = CD - CA

BE = 32m - 8m

BE = 24m

So:

FB^2 = FE^2 + BE^2

FB^2 = 7^2 +24^2

FB^2 = 49 +576

FB^2 = 625

Take square roots of both sides

FB = 25

So:

Path\ 1 = 25

Considering \triangle BAC, we have:

BC^2 = BA^2 + AC^2 --- Pythagoras theorem

Where:

BA = 15 and AC = 8

So, we have:

BC^2 = 15^2 + 8^2

BC^2 = 225 + 64

BC^2 = 289

Take square roots of both sides

BC = 17

So;

Path\ 2= 17

Recall that:

FC = Path\ 1 + Path\ 2

FC = 25 + 17

FC = 42

A ball on a string moves around a complete circle, once a second, on a frictionless, horizontal table. The tension in the string
ki77a [65]
The tension in the string balances out, and thus equals the centripetal force of the ball

T = mv^2/r
<span>
if it only takes half the time to finish one orbit it has to be moving at twice the original speed. </span>
<span>
And since v is squared T will increase by 4 </span>
<span>
T' = m(2v)^2/r </span>
<span>
T' = 4mv^/r = 4T </span>
<span>
T' = 24.0 N

Find the area of the shape shown below. I NEED HELP NOWWWWWW
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Answer:

<h2> 12.5 units{}^{2}</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given figure : Trapezoid

Base sides,

a = 2.5

b = 7.5

Height ( h ) = 2.5

Now, finding the area:

\frac{1}{2} (a + b) \times h

Plug the values

=  \frac{1}{2 }  \times (2.5 + 7.5) \times 2.5

Calculate the sum

=  \frac{1}{2}  \times 10 \times 2.5

Reduce the numbers with G.C.F 2

= 5 \times 2.5

Calculate the product

12.5 \:  \:  {units}^{2}

Hope this helps...

Best regards!
