Volume=height times area of base
area of base=pi times r^2

volume=(h)(pi)(r^2)

diameter=2r
diameger=8
8=2r
divide 2
4=r

h=3 times r
h=3r
r=4
h=3(4)
h=12

r=4
h=12
pi=3.14
subsitute
volume=(12)(3.14)(4^2)
volume=(12)(3.14)(16)
volume=602.88 in^3

A company has 6582 to give out in bonuses. An amount is to be given out equally to each of 32 employees A manger Jake has reason
just olya [345]

Answer:

His estimate is not correct

Each employee gets 205.6875

Step-by-step explanation:

Bonus to give out = 6582

Number of employees to get bonus = 32

Bonus per employee = Total bonus / number of employees

= 6582 / 32

= 205.6875

Each employee will get 205.6875 contrary to manger Jake reasoning of 2000 per employee

manger Jake reasoning

6572 / 32

32 in 65 = 2 remainder 1

He added 000 zeros to 2 which is wrong

He should have added 00 zeros to 2 because he has 172 remaining after dividing 65 by 32

Two thirds of a number decreased by 27 is at least 9
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

The mathematical statement can be written as follows

\frac{2}{3}x-27\geq9

which has solution as

⇒  x\geq54

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Two thirds of a number decreased by 27 is at least 9.

This statement can be transformed into a mathematical statement.

Taking the unknown number as x and putting the inequality \geq9 as the result is at least 9.

So, we have

\frac{2}{3}x-27\geq9

Adding 27 both sides

\frac{2}{3}x-27+27\geq 9+27

\frac{2}{3}x\geq 36

Multiplying both sides by 3.

3\times\frac{2}{3}x\geq 36\times 3

2x\geq108

Dividing both sides by 2.

\frac{2x}{2}\geq\frac{108}{2}

∴ x\geq54
