From points A and B, the distance between which is 1020 mi

The speed of one train was 10 mph greater than the speed of the other one

Let the Speed of first train is x

Speed of second train is x+ 10

Time = 5 hours

Distance = speed * time

Distance traveled by first train = x * 5= 5x

Distance traveled by second  train = (x+10) * 5= 5x + 50

the trains had not met yet and were 170 mi apart.

the distance between A  and B is 1020 mi, Distance traveled by two trains = 1020 - 170 = 850 miles

Distance traveled by first train + second train = 850

5x + 5x + 50 = 850

10x + 50 = 850

Subtract both sides by 50

10x = 800

x= 80

Speed of first train is 80 miles per hour

Speed of second train is 90 miles per hour

kotykmax [81]

Answer:

5 groups

2 extra children

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of a number of groups and number of extra children is shown below:

Given that

There is 27 children

And, this group would be divided into group 5

So,

As we know that 25 is easily divided by 5

So there are 5 groups

And, the extra children is

= 27 - 25

= 2 chidren

Solve by substitution -x+y=7 and 2x+3y=31
Rzqust [24]

Answer:

(2,9)

Step-by-step explanation:

To do this you have to solve one of the equations for a variable.

-x+y=7

2x+3y=31

Because the first equation doesn't have any numbers attached to the variables I decided to solve for the y in that equation.

-x+y=7

y=x+7

With this now one would have to plug this into the second equations:

2x+3(x+7)=31

Use the distributive property.

2x+3x+21=31

simplify.

5x+21=31

Isolate the x.

    -21     -21

5x=10

solve for the x.

x=2

Plug the x into one of the equations and solve for y.

-x+y=7

-2+y=7

isolate the y.

+2     +2

y=9

This  is the point of solution.

Ray QS bisects PQR. IF PQS= 3X AND RQS=2X÷6 THEN PQR IS?
OleMash [197]

It is given in the question that QS bisects angle PQR .

m \angle PQS = 3x , m \angle RQS =2x+6

And since, QS bisects angle PQR, therefore

[tex]m \angle PQS = m \angle RQS[/tex]

Substituting the values of angle PQS and angle RQS, we will get

3x = 2x+6
\\
3x-2x=6
\\
x = 6

PQR is twice of angle PQS. Therefore angle PQR is

m \angle PQR = 2*3*6 = 36 degree
