The simplified expression is \left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{17}.

Solution:

Given expression is \left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{8} \cdot\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{9}.

To simplify this expression:

$\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{8} \cdot\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{9}

Using exponent rule:

If the base of the product is same then add the powers of the bases.

a^m \cdot a^n = a^{m+n}

$\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{8} \cdot\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{9}=\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{8+9}

                           $=\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{17}

$\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{8} \cdot\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{9}=\left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{17}

The simplified expression is \left(-\frac{5}{7}\right)^{17}.

Answer:

B. 5√3 is your answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is an equilateral triangle, which means that all external sides (that make up the triangle) have the same measurement.

This means that line segment AC = 10.

Solve for the measurement of line segment AB. Line Segment AB is 1/2 of AC, making it: 10/2 = 5

Line AB = 5

Line AD = 10

This is a 1, √3, 2 triangle, in which:

1 = 5

2 = 10

Solve for √3. Multiply √3 with the 1:

5 x √3 = 5√3

B. 5√3 is your answer.

How can I use models to help me divide??
Ivan
You can use models to help you divide by making the number of models as your divisor. For example let's say I am dividing 8 ÷ 2. So you would make 8 circles (doesn't have to be circle it can be whatever like squares) and then make groups of 2 until you run out of circles. Then how many groups there are is your answer. 8÷2=4. Hope I helped!
