Answer:

Ability to react chemically with other substances is not a physical property.

Explanation:

The ability to dissolve in other substance can be both physical and chemical property.

It depend upon the type of solute, solvent and reaction between them.

For example, if NaCl is dissolved in water it gives sodium and chloride ions which are behaving different from the original compound. it will be chemical change but if water is evaporated it will give back sodium chloride and than it will be a physical change.

But if dissolved substances make the mixture not compound it will than a physical change, and solubility will consider a physical property.

Physical properties:

The properties which are not associated with change in chemical composition are called physical properties.

Example

Density, color, hardness, conductance, melting point, boiling points all  are physical properties.

Chemical properties:

The properties which are associated with change in chemical composition are called chemical properties.

Example:

Toxicity, flammability, heat of combustion etc.

Combustion of fuel or wood: that oil or wood convert into energy, CO2 and ash in case of wood

The reaction of Hydrogen and oxygen:

H 2 (g)  + O 2  (g) -------------------------------------> 2H 2O  (l)

A piece of copper absorbs 5000 J of energy and undergoes a temperature change from 100 °C to 200 °C. What is the mass of the pie
irakobra [83]

Answer:

B.) 129.9 grams

Explanation:

To find the mass, you need to use the following equation:

Q = mcΔT

In this equation,

-----> Q = energy (J)

-----> m = mass (g)

-----> c = specific heat (J/g°C)

-----> ΔT = change in temperature (°C)

The specific heat of copper is 0.385 J/g°C. Knowing this, you can plug the given values into the equation and simplify to isolate "m".

Q = mcΔT                                                            <----- Equation

5000 J = m(0.385 J/g°C)(200 °C - 100 °C)        <----- Insert values

5000 J = m(0.385 J/g°C)(100)                            <----- Subtract

5000 J = m(38.5)                                                <----- Multiply 0.385 and 100

129.9 = m                                                             <----- Divide both sides by 38.5

What do you think happens to the matter in a food sample as it is burned?
Alika [10]

Burning and other changes in matter do not destroy matter. The mass of matter is always the same before and after the changes occur. The law of conservation of mass states that matter cannot be created or destroyed
