In a triangle, the measure of the first angle is twice the measure of the second angle. the measure of the third angle is 96 deg

rees more than the measure of the second angle. use the fact that the sun of the measures of the three angles of a triangle is 180 degrees to find the measure of each angle

Lets x = measure of the second angle, so m<2 = x
m<1 = 2x (<span>the measure of the first angle is twice the measure of the second angle)
</span>m<3 = x + 96 (<span>96 degrees more than the measure of the second angle)
</span>
x + 2x + x+ 96 = 180
4x + 96 = 180
4x = 84
x = 21

2x = 2(21) = 42
x + 96 = 21+96 = 117

answer
m<1 = 42
m<2 = 21
m<3 = 117

Double check
sum = 180

m<1 + m<2 +m<3 = 180
42+21+117=180
180=180

On a scale drawing of an office space floor plan...
ki77a [65]

Answer: <u>16.</u> 21ft

<u>17.</u> 116.67mi or ≈117mi

<u>18.</u> 1,377,795in or 3,499.993m or ≈3500m

How we would calculate each of these: For number 16, you would set up a proportion of 1/3=7/x and then simplify this to 1x=21 which results in you dividing 1 from both sides of the equation and getting 21 as x, or the amount of feet. For number 17, you would do the same thing except with the different numbers. You set up another proportion. 3/50=7/x and then simplify to 3x=350. Divide the 3 on both sides and you get x=116.67mi to which you can round to 117mi if you like. For number 18, you must convert the 3.5 kilometers to inches and get 1,377,795in and then you can convert those inches into meters which would be 3,499.993m or you can round it to around 3500m.

Ivanna is playing a game in which she spins a spinner with 6 equal-sized slices numbered 1 through 6. The spinner stops on a num
saul85 [17]

Answer:

The spinner has 6 equal-sized slices, so each slice has a 1/6 probability of showing up.

I guess that we want to find the expected value in one spin:

number 1: wins $1

number 2: wins $3

number 3: wins $5

number 4: wins $7

number 5: losses $8

number 6: loses $8

The expected value can be calculated as:

Ev = ∑xₙpₙ

where xₙ is the event and pₙ is the probability.

We know that the probability for all the events is 1/6, so we have:

Ev = ($1 + $3 + $5 + $7 - $8 - $8)*(1/6) = $0

So the expected value of this game is $0, wich implies that is a fair game.

I really really really really need help with this question
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

When rotating any polygon 90 degrees, each vertice/point of the polygon should be changed from (x, y) to (y, -x). Because of this, E(-7, -4) should be E'(-4, 7), F(-2, -1) should be F'(-1, 2), and G(-5, -8) should be G'(-8, 5) after the rotation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Like I explained above, when rotating a shape 90 degrees <em>clockwise </em>on a plane, the points change from (x, y) to (y, -x). The student changed each point from (x, y) to (-y, x), which is a 90 degree <em>counterclockwise </em>rotation. That is why the student is incorrect.

I hoped this helped! Sorry, I am terrible at explaining things. :)
