An individual needs a daily supplement of at least 420 units of vitamin C and 170 units of vitamin E and agrees to obtain this s

upplement by eating two foods, I and II. Each ounce of food I contains 32 units of vitamin C and 10 units of vitamin E, while each ounce of food II contains 20 units of vitamin C and also 14 units of vitamin E. The total supplement of these two foods must be at most 28 ounces. Unfortunately, food I contains 27 units of cholesterol per ounce and food II contains 13 units of cholesterol per ounce. Find the appropriate amounts of the two food supplements so that cholesterol is minimized.

Answer:

To obtain equivalent amount from both foods we can eat 10 ounces of Food I and 5 Ounces of food II

To obtain minimum cholesterol, the individual should eat only 21 ounces of food II and zero ounce of food for the daily supplement of the individual

Step-by-step explanation:

Food I contains 32×C + 10×E per ounce

Food II contains 20×C + 14×E

Here we have X × (Food I) + Y × (Food II) = 420 C + 170 E

32·X + 20·Y = 420 C

10·X + 14·Y = 170 E

Therefore

X = 10 and Y = 5

To minimize the cholesterol, we can increase amount of Food II to get

21 ounces of food II gives

420 units of vitamin E and 294 units of vitamin E with 273 units of cholesterol.

Evaluate sin 300° without using a calculator.
Anni [7]

Answer:

-\sqrt{3} /2

Step-by-step explanation:

300 degrees is in the fourth quadrant (it's between 270 and 360); sine is negative in the fourth quadrant.

Given we're in the fourth quadrant, the reference angle is 360 - 300 = 60 degrees

sin(60°) = \sqrt{3} /2

And since sine is negative, this value turns negative:

sin(300°) = -\sqrt{3} /2

Write an equation of a line in point-slope, slope-intercept, and standard form that has
Inga [223]

Answer:

(a) y + 4x - 14 = 0

(b) y = -4x + 14

(c) y + 4x = 14

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for calculating the equation of line in point - slope form is given as :

y-y_{1} = m(x-x_{1} )

where m is the slope

Given from the question :

m = - 4

x_{1} = 2

y_{1} = 6

Substituting into the formula , we have :

y - 6 = - 4(x - 2)

y - 6 = -4x + 8

y + 4x - 6 - 8 = 0

y + 4x - 14 = 0

Therefore :

(a) the equation of the line in point - slope form is y + 4x - 14 = 0

(b) to write it in slope - intercept form , we will make y the subject of the formula , which will give : y = -4x + 14

(c) the equation of line in standard form is ; y + 4x = 14
