Answer and step-by-step explanation:

Making all of the stripes the same with means that we divide 15 yards by the 96 stripes:

15/96 = 0.15625 yards per stripe

There are 3 feet in every yard; this means that each stripe would be

0.15625(3) = 0.46875 foot

There are 12 inches in every foot; this means that each stripe would be

0.46875(12) = 5.625 inches

This is 5 5/8 inches per stripe.

Prove De Morgan's law by showing that each side is a subset of the other side by considering x ∈ A⎯⎯⎯ A ¯ ∩ B⎯⎯⎯ B ¯ .
adelina 88 [10]

Solution :

We have to prove that $\overline{A \cup B} = \overline{A} \cap \overline{B}$   (De-Morgan's law)

Let  $x \in \bar{A} \cap \bar{B}, $ then $x \in \bar{A}$ and $x \in \bar{B} $

and so $x \notin \bar{A}$ and $x \notin \bar{B} $.

Thus, $x \notin A \cup B$ and so $x \in \overline{A \cup B}$

Hence, $\bar{A} \cap \bar{B} \subset \overline{A \cup B}$   .........(1)

Now we will show that $\overline{A \cup B} \subset \overline{A} \cap \overline{B}$

Let $x \in \overline{A \cup B}$ ⇒ $x \notin A \cup B$

Thus x is present neither in the set A nor in the set B, so by definition of the union of the sets, by definition of the complement.

$x \in \overline{A}$ and  $x \in \overline{B}$

Therefore, $x \in \overline{A} \cap \overline{B}$ and we have $\overline{A \cup B} \subset \overline{A} \cap \overline{B}$  .............(2)

From (1) and (2),

$\overline{A \cup B} = \overline{A} \cap \overline{B}$

Hence proved.

Type the solution.y=–3x–7y=x–3
Andrej [43]

Answer:

(x,y)=(-1,-4)

Step-by-step explanation:

y=–3x–7

y=x–3

(y=)-3x-7=x-3

-3x-x=-3+7

-4x=4

x=4/(-4)

x=-1

y=x-3

y=-1-3

y=-4

(x,y)=(-1,-4)

calculate the scale factor of abc to def enter answer as a whole number or as a fraction into lowest terms
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

Scale is 1/6

Step-by-step explanation:

Since all sides and angles are identical these are congruent triangles

3 ways to solve:

Scale Factor = DE / AB = 12/72 = 1/6

Scale Factor = DF/AC = 7/42 = 1/6

Scale Factor = EF/CB = 11/66 = 1/6
