Answer: Judith is suffering from a generalized anxiety disorder

Explanation:

Experiencing anxiety at moderate levels is normal and also beneficial for people since it has the function of keeping the person alert to a situation of possible danger or as a source of motivation to do something. Anxiety becomes a problem for someone when it reaches high levels. Among the different types of anxiety that a person may have according to DSM V, generalized anxiety disorder is one of them and one of the most present in the population.

Generalized anxiety disorder is a disorder that is characterized by excessive worry about everyday things. The person with this disorder can not stop worrying about anything. A person with a generalized anxiety disorder may have trouble concentrating, feel tired all the time, have difficulty relaxing, cannot control their worries or feelings, have trouble swallowing and often feel irritated or nervous.

Among the various causes of this disorder are genetic factors. A person who has had a family member with this type of disorder may have a higher risk of developing it. Also, situations, where the person experiences high levels of stress, can trigger the disorder.

The treatment for generalized anxiety disorder is usually with psychotherapy. In psychotherapy, we seek to identify the causes for which the person has anxiety and various strategies to reduce anxiety.
