Given that f(x)=2x+1 and g(x)=-5+2, solve for f(g(x)) when x=3

When given a function such as h(x) = 3x, the value of h(x) is the y value when graphed. If we are asked to find h(x) at x = 4, all we do is plug 4 in for x.

h(4) = 12

We do the same thing with f(g(x)). First plug x=3 into g(x).

g(3) = -5(3) + 2 = -13

Then plug -13 into f(x)

f(-13) = 2(-13) + 1 = -25

The answer is -25.

Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

14 cups of flour.

Step-by-step explanation:

Rodney is making three pizzas.

The recipe says that for one pizza he needs flour = 2 cups

Rodney buy a bag of flour containing = 20 cups flour

Rodney needs flour for three pizzas = 3 × 2 = 6 cups

He will have left over flour after making the pizzas = 20 - 6

                                                                        = 14 cups of flour.

Rodney will have left over 14 cups of flour after making the pizzas.

A nightclub has approximated the demand for their Thursday night drink special by p^2+200q^2=177, where p is the price (in dol
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the approximate demand function of night drink expressed as;

p^2+200q^2=177,

p is the price (in dollars) and;

q is the quantity demanded (in thousands).

Given

p = $7

q = 800

Required

dq/dp

Differentiating the function implicitly with respect to p shown;

2p + 400d dq/dp = 0

400q dq/dp = -2p

200qdq/dp = -p

dq/dp = -p/100q

substitute p and q into the resulting equation;

dq/dp = -7/100(800)

dq/dp = -7/80000

dq/dp = -0.0000875

This means that the rate of change of quantity demanded with respect to the price is  -0.0000875

attashe74 [19]

Answer:

74 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find the total time

A sailboat started his journey at 6:30 am and reached his destination at 11:45 pm

so

from 6:30 am to 12:00 pm ----> there are 5 hours + 30 minutes=5.5 hours

from 12:00 pm to 11:45 pm ----> there are 11 hours + 45 minutes=11.75 hours

The total time is

5.5+11.75=17.25 hours

step 2

Find the average speed

we know that

The average speed is equal to divide the total distance by the total time

speed=\frac{1,276.5}{17.25}= 74\ mph
