The supreme court is the highest tribunal in the USA.<em> It deals with the cases and controversies about the constitutions and the US laws</em>. As the final arbitrator of the law, <em>it is given the power to deliver equal justice under the law</em>. It is the guardian and interpreter of the constitution. Supreme court consists of  one chief justice and the other associate judges, the number of associate judges is fixed by the congress. Currently, there are eight associate judges in the supreme court. The president appoints the Chief Justice on the recommendation of congress. The judicial branch of the US constitution is established by Article three of the constitution.
