Step-by-step explanation:

To answer your question, I will give two examples.

First and foremost, distributive property of a system of linear expression in algebra allows us to simply an expression by following the rule of expansion.

now, to know whether to add, lets take a look at this example;

                               a(b+c) = ab + bc

simplifying the expression above gives  ab + bc

this shows that when you are using the distributive property to multiply an addition, you will add the result.

on the other hand, lets look at ;       a(b-c) = ab - bc

the result shows that when you are using the distributive property to multiply a difference of variables or number, you will subtract the result.

The length (L) of the figure is 11 mm and the width (w) is 9 mm. What is the perimeter of the shaded region? Round to the neares
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

50.3 mm

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of the shaded region = perimeter of a full circle + 2(Length)

= πd + 2(L)

diameter (d) = width = 9 mm

Length (L) = 11 mm

Perimeter of the shaded region = π*9 + 2(11)

= 50.2743339 ≈ 50.3 mm (nearest tenth)
