Answer:

Option A - The volume is multiplied by 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A rectangular prism is changed by doubling its length, halving its width, and tripling its height.

To find : How will these changes affect its volume?

Solution :

Let L be the length, W be the width and H be the height of the rectangular prism.

The volume of the rectangular prism is V=L\times W\times H

Now, A rectangular prism is changed by doubling its length, halving its width, and tripling its height.

i.e. L=2L , W=\frac{1}{2}W and H=3H

Substituting in the volume formula,

V=2L\times \frac{1}{2}W\times 3H

V=3(L\timesW\times H)

Which means the volume is multiplied by 3.

Therefore, Option A is correct.

The Volume will be multiplied by 3. A.
I'm sure there is another way to go about this but I just used a test value of 2 for the length, width and height.
Then adjusted the equation and re-inserted the values and the Volume was tripled.
V=L*W*H then after adjustments
V=2L*1/2W*3H.

The sum of two numbers is 12. The first number,X, is twice the second number,y, which system of equations could be used to find
koban [17]

Answer:

y=4, x=8

Step-by-step explanation:

system:

x+y = 12, x=2y

convert to 1 variable, simplify:

2y+y=12

3y=12

y=4

x=2y=4*2=8

If I buy a stereo for $245 and this includes GST of 10%, what is the pre-GST price?
Ivan

Answer:  $222.73

===========================================

Work Shown:

x = pre-GST price

10% of x = 0.10x = tax amount

x + 0.10x = 1.10x = post-GST price = 245

1.10x = 245

x = 245/1.10

x = 222.7272 approximately

x = 222.73 is the price before tax.

------------

Check:

10% of 222.73 = 0.10*222.73 = 22.273 = 22.27

The tax amount ($22.27) is added to the pre-GST price to get

22.27+222.73 = 245

which matches the post-GST price mentioned.

The answer is confirmed.

Or another way to confirm the answer is to calculate this

1.10*222.73 = 245.003 = 245

Fill in the missing information. Tim Worker is doing his budget. He discovers that the average miscellaneous expense is $45.00 w
nlexa [21]

Answer:

P(38.6

And we can assume a normal distribution and then we can solve the problem with the z score formula given by:

z=\frac{X -\mu}{\sigma}

And replacing we got:

z=\frac{38.6- 45}{16}= -0.4

z=\frac{57.8- 45}{16}= 0.8

We can find the probability of interest using the normal standard table and with the following difference:

P(-0.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X the random variable who represent the expense and we assume the following parameters:

\mu = 45, \sigma 16

And for this case we want to find the percent of his expense between 38.6 and 57.8 so we want this probability:

P(38.6

And we can assume a normal distribution and then we can solve the problem with the z score formula given by:

z=\frac{X -\mu}{\sigma}

And replacing we got:

z=\frac{38.6- 45}{16}= -0.4

z=\frac{57.8- 45}{16}= 0.8

We can find the probability of interest using the normal standard table and with the following difference:

P(-0.4
