Kinetic energy is proportional to the velocity squared, so increasing in velocity will have an exponentially greater affect on translational kinetic energy. if you doubled the mass of an object it will double only it’s kinetic energy, but doubling the velocity of the object will quadruple its velocity.

Hydrides are compounds made up of hydrogen and metal. Why ammonia has the highest boiling point among the hydrides of elements i
RoseWind [281]
The correct option is D.
The hydrogen atoms that are attached to the nitrogen atom in the ammonia molecule are capable of forming hydrogen bond. The hydrogen bond that exist in the ammonia molecule is the reason why it shows higher boiling point compare to the other hydrides. Hydrogen bond occur in ammonia because ammonia is one of the most electronegative elements.

If gas is truly to be classified as a form of matter this means it can be measured. What form of gas can be measured?
juin [17]

Answer:

Gas is sometimes measured in cubic feet at a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit and an atmospheric pressure of 14.7 pounds per square inch. Gas production from wells is discussed in terms of thousands or millions of cubic feet (Mcf and MMcf). Resources and reserves are calculated in trillions of cubic feet (Tcf).

A sample of helium gas inside a closed but flexible container occupies a volume of 355mL at 23°C. If the pressure is held consta
guapka [62]

Answer:

978.19° C

Explanation:

P1V1/T1 =P2V2/T2     Since the pressure is constant, this can be written as

V1/T1 = V2/T2      RE-ARRANGE TO

V2 *  T1/V1   = T2       Note:  T must be in Kelvin!!

1.5 L  *  (273.15 + 23)  / (.355 L ) = T2 = 1251.338 K  =978.19 C

Calculate the moles of SO2 that contains 3.8 moles of O atoms
Olegator [25]
Answer: 1.9 moles SO₂

Explanation:

1) The chemical formula SO₂ shows that for every mol of SO₂ there are 1 mol of S and two moles of O.

2) Then you can state the proportion between the number of moles of SO₂ and O to find how many moles of SO₂:contains 3.8 moles of O.

   1 mol SO₂                         x

-------------------- =   --------------------------

    2 moles O              3.8  moles O

3) Now, you can clear x:

x = 3.8 moles O × 1 mol SO₂ / 2 moles O.

x = 1.9 moles SO₂.

which of the following would increase the loudness of a sound? increase tension increase wavelength increase amplitude
andriy [413]

Answer : The correct option is, increase amplitude.

Explanation :

Amplitude : It is a measure of the size of sound waves.

The loudness of sound is depend on the amplitude of the sound wave. That means the more the amplitude, the louder will be the sound and the less the amplitude, the low will be the sound.

The loudness of sound does not depend on the tension and wavelength.

Therefore, the correct answer is, increase amplitude.
