Hey there!

So, with domain and range in Algebra 2- you have to be extremely careful and use the endpoints or arrows on the line to your advantage.

If the line has one arrow, you can assume that either the domain or range is going to be continuous after some point so it would go in an infinite way on one side.

However, this line has two closed dots (keep in mind I didn't say open) we know that the line will stay on the graph just as is. So, with the domain and the range, you know that both will need a stopping point and a starting point for the domain and the range.

The only answer choice that does that is E.

E is the answer.

I hope this helps!

F the graph of y=ax+b/x+c has a horizontal asymptote y=2 and a vertical asymptote x=-3 then a+c=?
Pachacha [2.7K]
Correct answer is E.

y= \frac{ax+b}{x+c}
\\
\\ \lim_{x \to \infty} \frac{ax+b}{x+c}=2
\\
\\ \lim_{x \to \infty} \frac{ \frac{ax}{x} + \frac{b}{x} }{ \frac{x}{x} + \frac{c}{x} }=2
\\
\\ \lim_{x \to \infty} \frac{a + \frac{b}{x} }{ 1 + \frac{c}{x} }=2
\\ \frac{a + 0}{ 1 + 0 }=2
\\
\\ \frac{a}{1} =2
\\a=2
\\
\\x+c=0
\\-3+c=0
\\c=3
\\
\\a+c=2+3=5

ChitChat Wireless charges $0.30 per minute plus a monthly base fee. In September, Maggie used 120 minutes and her bill was $51.
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

$C = 0.30(m) + 15

C is bill cost

m is number of minutes used

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, we are asked to write an equation that estimates the bill cost of Maggie’s phone bills.

We proceed as follows;

Now, let’s try and find the base fee.

We can calculate this using her bill for September.

Mathematically;

Bill = (Cost per minute * total minutes) + Base fee

Here, $0.30 per minute for 120 minutes will yield a total of 120 * 0.3 = $36

This means the base fee would be $51-$36 = $15

Now let’s say the bill is $C, and the number of minutes used is m

Mathematically;

$C = 0.30(m) + 15

What is the sum of the measures of the exterior angles of a nonagon?
olchik [2.2K]

For this case we have by definition, that the sum of the exterior angles of a polygon is equal to 360 degrees, only when considering only one exterior angle for each vertex of the polygon, regardless of the number of sides it possesses. That said we have to:

The external angle of a regular polygon is given by:

\frac {360} {n}

Where:

n: It is the number of sides of the polygon

Then, for a nonagon each exterior angle will measure:

\frac {360} {9} = 40 degrees

Answer:

40 degrees each exterior angle

360 degrees the sum
