Answer:

The coefficient of oxygen in this balanced reaction is 5 ( option B)

Explanation:

Propane = C3H8

The process of combustion = adding oxygen (O2)

In this process propane will be consumed and CO2 and H2O will be produced.

C3H8 + O2 → CO2 + H2O

First we'll balance on both sides all H-atoms: left we have 8x H and on the right side we have 2x H so we have to multiply the right side ( H2O) by 4.

This gives us:

C3H8 + O2 → CO2 + 4H2O

Now we have on both side 8x H

On the left side we have 3x C, and 1x C on the right side. So we have to multiply CO2 on the right side by 3

This gives us: C3H8 + O2 → 3 CO2 + 4 H2O

On the left side we have 2x O but on the right side we have 10x O

We have to multiply O2 on the left side by 5, to equal this.

So finally, we'll have: C3H8 + 5 O2  → 3 CO2 + 4 H2O

We can see that the coefficient of oxygen in this balanced reaction is 5 ( option B)

1) Compounds:

a) Chemically combined.

b) Components change properties.

c) Fixed proportions.

2) Mixtures:

a) Physically combined.

b) Components retain properties.

c) Variable proportions.

3) Both:

a) Made of elements.

b) 2 or more components.

A compound is a pure substance because its molecule cannot be broken down into simpler particles by physical means. For example water (H₂O) is a chemical compound made of two elements (hydrogen and oxygen).

In chemical change new substances are formed, the atoms are rearranged and the reaction is followed by an energy change.

There are no chemical bonds between substances in the mixture.,For example, mixture is solution of water and alcohol.

What are some possible ways these rocks were formed? Be sure to discuss all 3 rocks.<br> pls help me
horrorfan [7]

The brownish rock is a sedimentry rock was formed when things like sand, mud, or pebbles get laid down in layers. Eventually the layers are lithified.

The grey rock is a metamorphic rock and was when other rocks are changed because of heat or pressure. Earth movements can cause rocks to be deeply buried or squeezed. As a result, the rocks are heated and put under great pressure. They do not melt, but the minerals they contain are changed chemically, forming metamorphic rocks.

The red dots rock is an igneous rock. Igneous rock forms when hot, molten rock crystallizes and solidifies.
