monthly budget = 155.60
cost of movies = x
cost of video games = 2.5x

movies + vidgames < budget

x + 2.5x < 155.60
3.5x       < 155.60 *expression of inequality

3.5x       < 155.60
<u>÷3.5           ÷3.5</u>
 x           <  44.46

Travis should spend less than 44.46 on movies. 

Assuming movie cost 44.

x + 2.5x < 155.60
44 + 2.5(44) < 155.60
44 + 110 < 155.60
154 < 155.60
