Answer:

To set your intensity level, you need to use your maximum heart rate, which is determined by subtracting age from 220.

Explanation:

To calculate the intensity of physical exertion it is important to know the Reserve Heart Rate or the Karvonen Method as follows:

  • Step 1 - Obtain the Maximum Heart Rate

Just subtract from 220 your age in years: HRmax = 220 - age (years)

  • Step 2 - Get Your Resting Heart Rate

The correct way is to place the middle and index fingers of your right hand on the inside of your left wrist, two inches below the base of your thumb. As soon as you feel the pulse of the radial artery, watch your watch and based on the time of 60 seconds, count the number of times you feel the pulse of the artery.

  • Step 3 - Obtain Heart Rate Reserve

To do this, subtract the resting heart rate from the maximum heart rate.

marusya05 [52]
I would say diabetes because when you're diabetic you have an elevated amount of glucose.  Which causes the narrowing of blood vessels and stiffening in arteries and a decrease in the function of red blood cells. which would mean that white blood cells don't do their job, and fight infection. so with all of this, blood and oxygen flow to the wound are decreased.  So the wound can not receive proper attention from the body because it doesn't have enough nutrients or oxygen to heal.
