The heights of 10 year old children has a normal probability distribution with mean of 54.6 inches and standard deviation of 5.7
Fofino [41]

Answer:

a) 0.69

The probability that a randomly selected 10-year old child will be more than 51.75 inches tall

P(X>51.75 ) = 0.6915

Step-by-step explanation:

Step(i):-

Given mean of the Population = 54.6 inches

Given standard deviation of the Population = 5.7 inches

Let 'X' be the random variable of normal distribution

Let 'X' = 51.75 inches

Z = \frac{x-mean}{S.D} = \frac{51.75-54.6}{5.7} = -0.5

Step(ii):-

The probability that a randomly selected 10-year old child will be more than 51.75 inches tall

P(X>51.75 ) = P(Z>-0.5)

                  = 1 - P( Z < -0.5)

                 = 1 - (0.5 - A(-0.5))

                = 1 -0.5 + A(-0.5)

               = 0.5 + A(0.5) (∵A(-0.5)= A(0.5)

              = 0.5 +0.1915

              = 0.6915

Conclusion:-

The probability that a randomly selected 10-year old child will be more than 51.75 inches tall

P(X>51.75 ) = 0.6915

A game room has a floor that is 120 feet by 75 feet. A scale drawing of the floor on grid paper uses a scale of 1 unit:5 feet. W
Viktor [21]
I believe to answer this question you would simply divide by 5 for the dimensions to get the size of the scale drawing, and given it is a drawing I can only assume it would be measured in inches, so the answer in my mind would be 24 by 15 inches. I hope this helped, have a nice day! :)

Solve each inequality. Graph the solution on a on a number line.
p-7/12>3/10
Dovator [93]

Answer:

so to solve an inequality you just treat the inequaltity sign like an equals sign except if you multiply by negative 1 you flip the direction of the sign.

p-7/12>3/10

add 7/12 to both sides

p>7/12+3/10

p>35/60+18/60

p>53/60

so if you had to graph this on a number line you would have an open circle on 53/60 and an arrow coming off pointing to the right

Will a stand that can hold up to 40 pounds support a 21-kilogram television?
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
1 kg = 2.20 pound
21kg = 21 x 2.20 = 46.2 pounds

Since the tv is heavier than the stand can support. The stand will not support the tv.
