- 15 \frac{13}{15}

change the mixed numbers to improper fractions

2 \frac{4}{5} = \frac{14}{5}

5 \frac{2}{3} = \frac{17}{3}

multiply the improper fractions

\frac{14}{5} × - \frac{17}{3}

= - \frac{14(17)}{5(3)} = - \frac{238}{15} = - 15 \frac{13}{15}

Check the picture below.

\bf 0=AB^2+6AB-121\implies \stackrel{\textit{using the quadratic formula}}{AB=\cfrac{-6 \pm \sqrt{6^2-4(1)(-121)}}{2(1)}}
\\\\\\
AB=\cfrac{-6 \pm \sqrt{520}}{2}\implies AB=\cfrac{-6 \pm \sqrt{4\cdot 130}}{2}
\\\\\\
AB=\cfrac{-6 \pm \sqrt{2^2\cdot 130}}{2}\implies AB=\cfrac{-6 \pm 2\sqrt{130}}{2}
\\\\\\
AB=-3\pm\sqrt{130}\implies AB=
\begin{cases}
\boxed{-3+\sqrt{130}}\\\\
-3-\sqrt{130}
\end{cases}

since the distance AB cannot be a negative value, thus is not -3-√(130).

Adult tickets for the school musical are sold for $3.50 and student tickets are sold for $2.50 on a given night 425 tickets were
miskamm [114]

Answer:

3.5x + 2.50y = 1237.50

425 = x + y

Step-by-step explanation:

number of adult tickets: x

number of student tickets: y

3.5x + 2.50y = 1237.50

( value of adult ticket [3.50]* number of adult tickets [x]) + (value of student ticket [2.50] * number of student tickets [y]) = total value (1237.50)

425 = x + y

(number of adult tickets [x]) + (number of student tickets [y]) = total (425)
