9000 earthworms he can have if his square of compost has a side length that is 3 times longer .

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have , Hiram raises earthworms. in a square of compost 4ft by 4ft he can have 1000 earthworms. We need to find how many earthworms can he have if his square of compost has a side length that is 3 times longer .

Area of square compost = side^2

⇒ Area = side^2

⇒ Area = 4^2

⇒ Area = 16ft^2

In this , square compost with Area = 16ft^2 can have 1000 earthworms ! if side is 3 times longer i.e. New side = 3(side) , So , new area will be :

⇒Area = (3side)^2

⇒ Area = 9side^2

⇒Area =9(16)

⇒Area = 144ft^2

Now , Area = 16ft^2 can have 1000 earthworms ,So Area = 144ft^2 will have :

⇒\frac{1000(144)}{16}

⇒ 9000

Therefore, 9000 earthworms he can have if his square of compost has a side length that is 3 times longer .

Find the distance between the points (-7,-6) and (5,-6) .
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

12 units

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given these two points, (-7,-6) and (5,-6), and we are to find the distance between them.

We know the formula for finding the distance between two points:

Distance = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

So putting in the values of the given coordinates in the above formula to get:

Distance = \sqrt{(5-(-7))^2+(-6-(-6))^2} = \sqrt{144 + 0} =12

Therefore, the distance between the two given points is 12 units.

If p = -2 and q = 5, is the value of p/q equivalent to 2/5?
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

No.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Subsutute p/q with the numbers given, p = -2 and q = 5.

-2 / 5.

2. Divide 2/5 and -2/5 and compare.

2 / 5 = 0.40

-2 / 5 = -0.40

-0.40 < 0.40

If they are not =, then they are NOT equivalent.

Which means, they are Not equivalent.
