Transgenic bacteria can be described as bacteria which have a foreign gene inserted into their genome. The genetically modified bacteria are helpful to humans in a number of ways. Some of these are:
Production of human proteins especially for medicines.
Production of herbicide and pesticide resistant genes so that the crop production is enhanced.
transgenic bacteria are used for bioremediation as they break down contaminants.
For producing amino acids which benefit the humans.
They bind to an allosteric site which induces a conformational change that increases the affinity of the enzyme's active site for its substrate. This increases the reaction rate.
