What's 99.1 ×0.16 (must show work)

Mathematics
2 answers:
wariber [46]3 years ago
8 0
99.1
x0.16

6(1)=6
6(9)=54. Put down the 4 and carry the 5.
6(9)=54+5= 59.

You work in reverse, so our last number should be first and our first number last. So the first number is: 5946

Our next row, we put down a 0 and then continue.
1(1)=1
1(9)=9
1(1)=9

Our second number is 9910.

Add the two: 5946+9910=15856

Count the number lf decimal places. In this case, three. Move the decimal 3 places left: 15.856

I always double check using a calculator.

**Sorry the methods it's written out in isn't better, but I can't upload pictures. Hope it helps.

The answer is:  " 18.856 " .
_______________________________________
Explanation:
_______________________________________
Here is ONE method:
__________________
Given:
___________________

           99.1
      *   0.16
     ____________
  =       ?
_________________________
Here is one way to approach the problem—
      (Note:  Work is shown in this explanation; as dictated by the actual
                  question being asked.) ;
__________________________
      →   Write problem as:
__________________________
        991
      *  16
_________    →  and solve;
      5946
+    991
_________
    15856 ;
_______________________________________________
Then, taking the number; "15856",  we move the decimal; or "implied decimal point"; ending after the last digit, "6";  ; back 3 (THREE) spaces;
   since the original problem is:  "99.1 * 0.16 ;  as such, we move the "implied decimal point" back "1 (ONE) space;  to account for the fact that we used "991" in lieu of the actual value {"99.1"} ; and we move the "implied decimal point" back 2 (TWO) additional spaces''; to account for the fact that we used "16" in lieu of the actual value {"0.16"}.
______________________________________
     → As such, we take:  " 15856." ;  and move the "implied decimal point" ending after the number, "6";  back three spaces, to get:  " 15.856 ".
_________________________________________________________
Let us check our answer by using a calculator:
____________________________________________________
     →  99.1  *  0.16  =?  18.856 ?? ;  Yes!

A pyramid of logs has 2 logs in the top row, 4 logs in the second row from the top, 6 logs in the third row from the top, and so
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

1) Is the pattern an arithmetic sequence?

Yes it is

2)Identify a and d.

a = First term = 2

d = Common difference = 2

3) Write the 50th term of the sequence.

50th term = 100

4) Find the total number of logs in the first 10 rows.

= 1010 logs

Step-by-step explanation:

Is the pattern an arithmetic sequence?

Yes it is

2) Identify a and d.

A pyramid of logs has 2 logs in the top row, 4 logs in the second row from the top, 6 logs in the third row from the top, and so on,

The formula for arithmetic sequence =

an = a+ (n - 1)d

a = First term

d = Common difference

For the above question:

a = 2

d = Second term - First term

= 4 - 2

d = 2

3) Write the 50th term of the sequence.

Using the formula for arithmetic sequence

an = a+ (n - 1)d

a = 2

n = 50

d = 2

a50 = 2 + (50 - 1)2

= 2 + (49)2

= 2 + 98

= 100

The 50th term = 100

4)Find the total number of logs in the first 10 rows.

Sum of first n terms = n/2(a + l)

n = 10

a = first term = 2

We are told that there are 200 logs in the bottom row, hence:

l = last term = 200 logs

Hence,

Sn = 10/2×[ (2 + 200

= 5(202)

= 1010 logs

A water delivery truck is filling the water tank at Morgan's house. The truck arrived with 2400 L of water. The number of liters
Luda [366]

Answer:

11.81 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

Here is a simple step-by-step explaination of how to solve this word problem:

Since the truck has 2,400L in it to begin with, the first part of our equation will be 2,400L

L = 2400L

Next we know that the water in the truck decreases at a <u>rate</u> of 110L/min, or <u>Liters per minute</u>.

So we will put that in the equation:

L = -110L + 2400L

Now that we have our equation set up, its time to solve.

To figure out how much water it needs to lose in <u>total</u> to end up with 1100 L left, we subtract 1,100 from 2,400.

2,400 - 1,100= 1,300&#10;&#10;

Now we can take that number and divide it by how many liters per minute were lost.

1,300/110=11.81

So the total amount of time it took for the truck to have 1,100 L left is 11.81 minutes. Your answer would be

B. L=-110t + 2400, t=11.8 min

Hope this helps! : )

Answer:

<h3>\boxed{ \boxed{ \bold{ {x}^{2}  + 4x - 21}}}</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

\sf{(x - 3)(x + 7)}

Use the distributive property to multiply each term of the first binomial by each term of the second binomial.

⇒\sf{x(x  + 7) - 3(x + 7)}

⇒\sf{ {x}^{2}  + 7x - 3x  - 21}

Collect like terms

⇒\sf{ {x}^{2}  + 4x - 21}

Hope I helped!
