Because air and water have different density.
Air is less dense than water.
So, the light will bend towards normal.
Thus, the angle of refraction is smaller than angle of incidence.
This phenomena is known as refraction.

If a biker rides west for 50 miles from his starting position, then turns and bikes back east for 80 miles. What is his displace
lara [203]

Answer:

Displacement = 30 miles due east.

Explanation:

Let the distance due west be A

Let the distance due east be B

Given the following data;

A = 50 miles

B = 80 miles

To find the displacement;

Displacement can be defined as the change in the position of a body or an object. It is a vector quantity because it has both magnitude and direction.

Thus, the displacement would be calculated by subtracting distance A from distance B because the rider rode in opposite directions.

Displacement = B - A

Displacement = 80 - 50

Displacement = 30 miles due east.

How is velocity affected when balanced forces act on an object?
MrRissso [65]
When the forces acting on a body are balanced, their effect
\on the body's motion is the same as if no forces at all are
acting on it, and its velocity can't change.  It continues moving
in a straight line at constant speed (which may be zero).

A 15.0-mW laser puts out a narrow beam 2.00 mm indiameter.
UkoKoshka [18]

Explanation:

It is known that formula for energy per unit area per unit time is as follows.

             S = \frac{P}{A}

                = \frac{P}{\pi \times r^{2}} = \frac{4P}{\pi d^{2}}

      c \epsilon_{o} E^{2} = \frac{4P}{\pi d^{2}}

              E = \sqrt{\frac{4P}{\pi d^{2} c \epsilon_{o}}}

Now, putting the values we will calculate the electric field as follows.

            E = \sqrt{\frac{4P}{\pi d^{2} c \epsilon_{o}}}

               = \sqrt{\frac{4 \times 15 \times 10^{-3} W}{3.14 \times (2mm \times \frac{1m}{1000 mm})^{2} \times 3 \times 10^{8} \times 8.85 \times 10^{-12}}}

               = 1341.03 V/m

Now, we will calculate the average magnetic field as follows.

                   B = \frac{E}{c}

                      = \frac{1341.03 V/m}{3 \times 10^{8} m/s}

                      = 4.47 \times 10^{-6} T

                      = 4.47 \mu T

Thus, we can conclude that the average (rms) value of the magnetic field is 4.47 \mu T.

A(n)_______is a reflected<br> sound wave.
strojnjashka [21]

Answer:

A reflected sound wave can be one of two things, an echo or a reverberation. Reverberation happens when sound bounces off surfaces and reaches back to the ear within 0.1 seconds. Echoes happen when sound waves bounce back to the ear after more than 0.1 seconds.
