Hi!

We have to use PEMDAS to solve this.

Parentheses

3.6 x 10^-2

Exponents

3.6 x 0.01

Multiplication

0.036

0.7 x 0.036

0.0252

Now let's put it in scientific notation.

The formula for scientific notation is N × 10^a

N = an integer between 1-10

a = how many times it was moved to the left or right of the decimal

Let's turn 0.0252 into an integer between 1-10 by moving the decimal to the left.

2.52

2.52 × 10^a

We moved the decimal to the right (negative) 2 times.

2.52 × 10^-2

The answer is 2.52 × 10^-2

Hope this helps! :)

Do all rational functions have vertical asymptotes
Tpy6a [65]
A given rational function may or may not have a vertical asymptote (depending upon whether the denominator ever equals zero), but (at this level of study) it will always have either a horizontal or else a slant asymptote.

Two similar cylinders have radii of 15 inches and 6 inches. What is the ratio of the surface area of the small cylinder to the s
Levart [38]

Answer:

4:25

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

r₁ = 15 inches, r₂ = 6 inches

The area of the cylinder is given by :

A=2\pi rh+2\pi r^2

The ratio of surface areas of two cylinders,

\dfrac{S_2}{S_1}=\dfrac{2\pi r_2h_2+2\pi r_2^2}{2\pi r_1h_1+2\pi r_1^2}\\\\\dfrac{S_2}{S_1}=(\dfrac{r_2}{r_1})^2\\\\=\dfrac{6}{15}^2\\\\=\dfrac{4}{25}

Hence, the required ratio is 4:25.
