When two long parallel wires carry unequal currents, the magnitude of the magnetic force that one wire exerts on the other is F.

If the current in both wires is now doubled, what is the magnitude of the new magnetic force on each wire?

Answer:

The magnitude of the new magnetic force on each wire will be 4 times of the initial force.

Explanation:

When two long parallel wires carry unequal currents, the magnetic force acting on two wires per unit of length is given by :

\dfrac{F}{l}=\dfrac{\mu_o I_1I_2}{2\pi r}

r is distance from wires

If the current in both wires is now doubled, new force per unit length is given by :

(\dfrac{F}{l})'=\dfrac{\mu_o (2I_1)(2I_2)}{2\pi r}\\\\(\dfrac{F}{l})'=4\times \dfrac{\mu_o I_1I_2}{2\pi r}\\\\(\dfrac{F}{l})'=4\times \dfrac{F}{l}

So, the magnitude of the new magnetic force on each wire will be 4 times of the initial force.

shepuryov [24]

Answer:

There shall be a LABEL

Explanation:

The label is to enable the maintenance personal or the user to identify the individual conductor from each other during removal and installation or when maintenance task is being carried out on the system. This is to avoid the users of the system form plugging the conductor incorrectly.

For example, if there are four conductors label A, B, C, and D there will be four connection point label same way. By this, the user will not plug conductor A to plug B.

The acceleration due to gravity on the moon is 1.6 m/s2. What is the gravitational potential energy of a 1200-kg lander resting
faltersainse [42]

Gravitational potential energy is energy an object possesses because of its position in a gravitational field. The equation for gravitational potential energy is GPE = mgh.

GPE = 1200(1.6)(350) = 672000 J

Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.

There is a distinction between average speed and the magnitude of average velocity. Give an example that illustrates the differe
Usimov [2.4K]

An example that illustrates the difference is the circular motion

Explanation:

Let's start by reminding the definition of the two quantities:

- Speed is a scalar quantity that tells "how fast" an object is moving, regardless of its direction of motion.

Speed can be  calculate as:

speed = \frac{d}{t}

where:

d is the distance travelled

t is the time taken

- Velocity is instead a vector quantity, given by:

velocity = \frac{d}{t}

where;

d is the displacement of the object (displacement is a a vector connecting the initial position to the final position of motion)

t is the time taken

Since it is a vector, velocity has both a magnitude and a direction, therefore it also takes into account the direction of motion of the object.

For an object in motion in a straight line, speed and velocity are the same. However, this is not always the case.

In fact, an example of motion in which the two quantities are different is the circular motion. Consider for example the object making one complete revolution along the circle. Therefore, its average speed is the ratio between the length of the perimeter (the distance) divided by the time taken:

speed = \frac{2\pi r}{t}

where r is the radius of the circle.

However, the displacement of the object is zero (because the object returns to the starting point), and so the average velocity is also zero:

velocity = \frac{0}{t}=0

In each of the four situations below an object is experiencing (nearly) uniform circular motion. State what force is providing t
Stells [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that a centripetal force is a form of force that gives rise or causes a body to move in a curved path.

Hence;

1. When a car is being driven around a track, it is the FORCE OF FRICTION that is acting upon the turned wheels of the vehicle, which transforms into the centripetal force required for circular motion.

2. When a ball being is swung on the end of a string, TENSION FORCE acts upon the ball, which transforms the centripetal force required for circular motion.

3. When the moon is orbiting the earth, it is the FORCE OF GRAVITY acting upon the moon, which transforms the centripetal force required for circular motion.

4. A rotating wheel on the other hand has NO centripetal force because centripetal force is pull towards the center of a motion. However the speed of the object is tangent to the circle, while the direction of the force is also perpendicular to the direction of the rotating wheel.
