The blue whale is known to be the biggest as well as the heaviest mammary glands.

Explanation:

Blue whale or Balaenoptera musculus has a long and slender body and the body may be of various shades. They fall under the family which involves humpback whale, the fin whale, and minke whale. It is believed the whales family to have diverged from other families of suborder Mysticeti. They feed almost on krill and small numbers of copepods. Mating season starts in later autumn and continues till the end of the winter.

Out of all the animal species present on the earth, blue whale is known to have the largest mammary glands which are about 1.5 meters in length and weigh around 250 pounds. This is similar to the baby elephant and rather than that of the terrestrial mammal like breasts, whales comprise of mammary slits from where the baby whale nudges to suck out the milk.

Underwater mammary glands do not function like humans. This is because they do not have anything which resembles the breast of human. Secondly, all the whales comprise of inverted mammary gland which will only come out with the stimulation which is made by the baby whale. The milk is ejected from the breasts and not sucked.

The ileum contains ________ that project into the lumen and increase the amount of surface area.
Ivanshal [37]

The ileum contains villi that project into the lumen and increase the amount of surface area.

Villi are small finger-like structures that project into the lumen of the small intestine. Villi increase the surface area of the intestinal walls for easy and quick absorption of digested food with the addition of digestive secretions. Villi vary in length from about 0.5 to 1 mm. They are usually found in large numbers at the beginning of the small intestine and they reduce toward the end of the tract.

Describe how the structures of proteins differ from the structures of carbohydrates (150 words)
Veronika [31]

well both are considered macromolecules. proteins are like big lego construction. each single piece gets pieced together to make a larger thing. each single piece is a monomer, and the larger construction is the polymer. the monomers are called amino acids and they get pieced together to form the polymer which is called a protein. the linkage that they use is an amide bond, and in biology it is usually called a peptide bond. carbohydrates can be singular monomers or polymer units. they are made of completely different compounds usually aldehydes or ketones. and they link together through different chemical linkages (acetal or ketal linkages for polymers, hemiacetal or hemiketal linkages for monomers). both can be large, 3D strucutres proteins are only functional as a large, 3D structure, while carbohydrates can be singular. (you might wanna word it differently for safety reason)
