We  have to realize a simple rule of three

if 1 cup of corn------------------------- > 7.87 g of fat
2.5 cup--------------------------- X

X=2.5*7.87=19.675 gr

the answer is 19.675 grams of fat in 2.5 cup of corn

Sample Response: Multiply 25 by 787 to get 19675. Then add the number of decimal places in the factors to find the number of decimal places in the answer. There are 19.675 grams of fat in 2.5 cups of corn. Estimate to check the answer using 3 x 8 to get 24.

Answer:

This is a 10 percent increase

Step-by-step explanation:

Last week he spent 10 hours

This week 11 hours

percent increase = (new - original )/original * 100 percent

                             = (11-10)/10 * 100 percent

                             = 1/10 * 100 percent

                             = 10%

Example 2
Arada [10]

Answer:

y=x-2

Step-by-step explanation:

If you have drawn the graph of y = x^2 - 3x + 1.

To determine the equation of the line which  should be drawn to solve the equation:  x² - 4x +3=0

Simply carry out the subtraction: x^2 - 3x + 1 -(x^2 - 4x +3)

\implies x^2 -3x + 1-x^2 + 4x -3 \\= x^2 - x^2+ 4x - 3x-3  + 1\\=x-2

The equation of the line which should be drawn is: y=x-2

What this means is simply:

If

y = x^2 - 3x + 1$ and $y=x-2,$ then:\\x^2 - 3x + 1=x-2\\x^2 - 3x + 1-x+2=0\\x^2 - 4x + 3=0

Can somebody teach what quadratic function is?
morpeh [17]
A quadratic function is one of the form f(X)=ax^2+bx +c,where a,b and c are numbers with 'a' not equal to zero.
The graph of a quadratic function is a curve called a parabola. Parabola may open upward or downward and vary in 'width' or 'steepness' , but all have the basic "U" shape.
All parabolas are symmetric with respect to a line called the axis of symmetry. A parabola intersects its axis of symmetry at a point called the vertex of the parabola.
You know that the two points determine a line. This means that if you are given any two points in the plane,then there is one and only one line that contains both points.
