Answer:

The graph shows the proportional relationship between total spent and number of months

A proportional relationship has the following characteristics

In a proportional relationship, the ratio of the 'x' and 'y' values is constant for all data pairs

The rate of change between the two quantities in a proportional relationship is constant

The graph of a directly proportional relationship passes through the origin

Therefore, the significance of the given points are;

1. The point (1, 5) is the first point that indicates the proportional relationship between the 'x' and 'y' values and from which the the constant of proportionality, k = y/x can be found as follows;

When x = 1 month, and y = $ 5, for the proportional relationship, we have;

k = y/x = $ 5/(1 month) = 5 $/month

2. The point (0, 0) is the starting point of the relationship and indicates that the graph of the 'x', and 'y', values passes through the origin and the relationship between the ;x;, and ;y;, values is a directly proportional relationship

3. The point (4, 20) which is the limiting point or the point with the highest 'y' value gives;

1) The total payment after 5 months

2) it can be used to draw the graph of the straight line relationship

3) Provides verification of the constant of proportionality

0.5, 3/16, 0.75, 5/48 least to greatest
jarptica [38.1K]
An easy way for me to do this is to either make all of the fractions into decimals or all the decimals into fractions, whatever you prefer. I prefer fractions, but for typing reasons I’m going to make them all decimals. Making 5/48 into a decimal you divide 5 by 48 and get 0.104... and divide 3 by 16 and get 0.1875. Then from there, look at whatever tenths place number is the least (the number after the decimal). Two of them have one, so moving onto the next number, 8>0, which means 0.104 is less then 0.1875. Then 5<7. So from least to greatest, 5/48 (0.104), 3/16 (0.1875), 0.5, 0.75.
Good Luck!

Joe worked 12 hours and packed 32 cartons. Bob worked 25 hours and packed 64 cartons. Did Joe and Bobwork at the same rate?O YES
Bas_tet [7]

To be able to compare the rates, we will write them in fraction form.

The fraction that represents Joe's rate is:

\frac{32}{12},

and the fraction that represents Bob's rate is:

\frac{64}{25}\text{.}

Simplifying the above fractions, we get:

\begin{gathered} \frac{32}{12}=\frac{8}{3}, \\ \frac{64}{25}=\frac{64}{25}\text{.} \end{gathered}

Since:

\frac{8}{3}\ne\frac{64}{25}

then Bob and Joe did not work at the same rate.

Answer:

No, Bob and Joe did not work at the same rate.
