Well you go by the equation a^2+b^2=c^2 and as you plug in the given numbers which are a and b and then square them 36+64=c^2 and you will get 100 for c^2 to bring it back to c you will need to radical it back to c and you will get 10

The answer is x=10

Answer:

x=10

Step-by-step explanation:

Use pythagorean theorem because the triangle is right-angled triangle.

6²+8²=x²

36+64=x²

100=x²

x=√100

x=10

adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

the maximum height is 1054.500 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

h ( t ) = − 4.9t^2 + 133t + 152

a= -4.9 , b= 133  and c= 152

To find maximum height , we find vertex

x= \frac{-b}{2a}=\frac{-133}{2(-4.9)}= 13.5714

Now plug in 13.5714 for 't' in h(t)

h(t) =-4.9t^2 + 133t + 152

h(t)=-4.9( 13.5714)^2 + 133( 13.5714)+ 152=1054.500

the maximum height = 1054.500 meters

Given: y=x^2-4x-12
sergeinik [125]

Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

y=x^2-4x-12

Set equal to 0 to find the zeros

0 =x^2-4x-12

Factor.  What 2 numbers multiply to -12 and add to -4

-6*2 = -12

-6+2 = -4

0= (x-6) (x+2)

Using the zero product property

0=x-6         0 = x+2

x=6            x = -2

zeros: -2,6

Vertex

h = -b/2a = - (-4)/ 2(1) = 4/2 = 2

OR  Average the roots  (-2+6)/2 = 4/2 =2

The y coordinate is found by substituting into the equation

y = (2)^2 -4(2) -12

y = 4-8-12

y =-16

vertex : (2, -16)
