The length of the radius of the cylinder is 2 units.

The lateral surface area of a cylinder = <span>2πrh</span>
where, r = base radius
            h = height of cylinder
Now, height of cylinder = 2r units

⇒ 16 π =  2×π×r×<span>h
</span>⇒ 16 π =  2×π×r×2r
⇒  r^{2} = 4
⇒ r = 2 units
Thus, radius is 2 units.

Answer: 2 units

Step-by-step explanation:

The lateral area of the cylinder is given by :-

L.A.=2\pi r h, where r is radius and h is the height of cylinder.

Given: The lateral area of the cylinder = 16π square units.

Let r be the radius of the triangle, then we have

Height of cylinder = 2r

The lateral area of the given cylinder will be :-

16\pi=2\pi r(2r)\\\\\Rightarrow2r^2=8\\\\\Rightarrow r^2=4\\\\\Rightarrow r=\pm2

Hence, the length of the radius of the cylinder = 2 units.

Darina [25.2K]

Let's assume

number of small notebooks =x

number of large notebooks =y

we are given

total number of notebooks =31

so, we get

x+y=31

now, we can solve for y

y=31-x

we have

Small notebooks cost $3.50 and large notebooks cost $5.00

she has $134 to spend

so, we get

3.50x+5y=134

now, we can plug y

3.50x+5(31-x)=134

3.50x+5*31-5x=134

-1.5x+155=134

-1.5x+155-155=134-155

x=14

now, we can find y

y=31-14

y=17

so,

number of small notebooks is 14

number of large notebooks is 17.............Answer

Is the following number negative, positive or neither?<br> -6 1/2
Annette [7]

Answer:

negative.

Step-by-step explanation:

what is half of -6?

=-3, negative.

You owe your friend 6 dollars, and you have 0 dollars.

Your friend told you: you only have to pay half the money

so, instead of owing 6 dollars, you owe 3 dollars, which will still be equal to -3 dollars from your wallet :)
